So I purchased this & then read the reviews afterwards (but before the product arrived) and was a little concerned about what I had potentially gotten myself into... thankfully, I didnt end up regretting my purchase. The drive works wonderfully and barely even gets warm to the touch. I DID take one of the other reviewers suggestions & opted NOT to install the setup software that came with it (instead just letting Windows do its thing), so other buyers may want to keep that under consideration.

Fast very portable but wish it was a little cheaper and more capacity.

Im pulling most of my pictures from my computer and loading them onto this solid-state external storage unit. Saves space on my computer hard drive and appears to transfer data very smoothly and fairly quickly.

We needed a fast hard drive to transfer a 1.2TB file. Usually we use g-drives pro, but someone said that SSD is faster. Well, the moment this drive showed that it would take 14 days to copy this file out of g-drive, I packed it and returning it. It might be fast for small files, but it definitely cannot handle large ones.

Love the slim form factor and how fast it transfers data 10/10

I already have more SSD drives than I know what to do with, but when I saw this new one, I had to try it. Im not sure what the underlying technology is, but its a phenomenal drive.

I bought it to keep it to transfer photos and videos in a storage device while travelling. It works really well and transfer files very fast.

This is the second T7 I have purchased. I was not expecting to be disappointed in the performance. Transferring files from T5 to the new T7 went well, fast, no hesitation. However, when opening files once on the T7 the difference was noticeable. Opening files is slow then expected, hesitation. Once files open everything seemed to go okay. However, this is the first such issues I have experienced. When trying to work speed it important. I can not comment on others who have reported heating issues as I have not actually paid much attention. Again, this is the first one that I have noticed this flicked performance. Update: Given the high ratings, the T7, T7 Touch models that I have have been very difficult to log into once the password is initiated. Many times, restarting the computer is the only way to get the to work. I doubt after 4 I will every purchase another Samsung T -7 model.
