Worth the money.

Ive used T5 drives for awhile now without issues, and I was happy to purchase this one based on a very good track record. The general pluses (in the past) are that they are fast and provide a lot of storage in a small container--Id typically used these for large video files. Additionally, while Ive always been careful with these drive, Ive also generally found their USB connection in the back to be robust--generally, this is the point of weakness in any portable drive, and theyd performed well there. Unfortunately, this particular drive died within 7 months, failing to mount repeatedly. Im not an expert with regard to data recovery methods, but none have worked. I suspect this was just a lemon of a drive but that is cold comfort when work is interrupted and, in some cases, lost.

Im using this for Time Machine backups on my mac. Its plugged into a USB Hub and just sits on my desk. Its very small, lightweight, and doesnt make any noise. Set and forget. I recommend it, as its a product that serves a purpose and doesnt get in the way.

used internal drive instead - cheaper

The T5 2TB drive is a good overall value, small, rugged and portable will great performance for transferring large files. I use one each for each PC as a back-up drive and 3 as scratch drives for working media projects. And since its a popular drive, there are good carrying cases available and works with any USB 3 Data cable.

Works perfect for macOS and is better than buying a separate enclosure with an SSD.

I purchased as a replacement HD to my failing internal 8 year old iMac HD. I now boot from this SSD and run off of it. And now my iMac runs faster than it did when I purchased it... wayyyyyyyyyyy faster. For the first time I can open an application and it will hardly bounce before it is open. I can have countless tabs on my browser open with no hindrance. I can have numerous extensions on that browser too! I saved myself having to purchase a new iMac at a time when I would not ever have done so. I know the new chip iMacs will be released at some point this year and would not have appreciated having to buy an older model with the old chips when I was only a few months from the new release.
