> 24 hourI purchased 10 of these drives to use in a Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen 2. All 10 drives died after only a few months of use. The drives were not under a lot of stress or in an enclosure that had a lot of heat. I tried going through their tech support for assistance and got nothing but the runaround for several weeks without any help. A complete waste of time. Do not buy these drives as they are completely unreliable and will fail you if you use them for a few hours per day. I have 30+ years of IT experience and have used tons of drives over the years with great support, but these by far are the worst drives I have ever purchased.

> 24 hourThis drive is GREAT!! When I first opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised by how small it was. I bought it for my XBOX One X. I connected it and within 5 seconds it was ready to be used! NO Lie. This was so refreshing compared to what I went through last week when I made the HUGE mistake of buying a WD MyBook 4TB from a different site. For the past 30+ years I was a programmer/analyst, I also used to build PCs for myself, my family and friends. Ive never had any luck with WD drives, but last week I thought I would give them another chance. It died within 2 days!! Ive never, ever had any problems with Seagate. Great product, great quality, great company and great experience overall, as usual! Thank you Amazon and thank you Seagate!!

> 24 hourI was about to return my new Seagate 5TB External Hard Drive, but before I did, I had called Amazon for support and they connected right away with a rep from Seagate and because I am using both a Mac and Window, they were able to help me to configure my Seagate 5TB External Hard Drive to handle both. Thank you Amazon and tank you Seagate.

> 24 hourWhen the hard drive came I immediately noticed that the box was clearly damaged, dirty, and had been opened. The product inside was the same -- clearly opened and not new. The hard drive itself was silver (not black as described) and had scratches all over it. The hard drive I received was not at all what I thought I would be receiving and I returned it.

> 24 hourGot this yesterday. 5 TB of space sounds like richness. Easy to get it up and running -- a matter of seconds. I like that it does not require a separate power cord, only the USB connection cord to the PC. Since this device is replacing my nearly-full external backup drive, I started the file transfer process. 775 GB of data in over a million files. This is where this drive fails to meet expectations. Transfer write speeds vary from 2 KB/second to 2 GB/second. Incredibly slooooowwww. The estimate is that it will take between 60 and 80 hours to complete the copying. Hopefully the drive performs faster when dealing with less data. But, 2 KB/second??!! I believe floppy disks were faster than that! WOW...... UPDATE: It ultimately took just under 80 hours to do the initial backup copy. Going forward, by doing a daily backup of only whats changed, the slowness is less noticeable thanks to low volume. Now I just hope the storage device is reliable and continues to save my backup data for years to come. UPDATE OVER A YEAR LATER: the drive has worked well, no issues. Daily backups of just a few MB scheduled in early morning hours has been good. Occasionally retrieve files from it and it has worked as expected. Upped rating from 2 to 3 stars.

> 24 hourI plugged this in to an HP ML370 G6 using a third party USB 3.0 card. Once the partitions were deleted Server 2016 was able to see the drive and use it as a dedicated backup target. It is fast and reliable. I like these drives as ‘rotatable’ backups.
