I own several external hard drives and out of all of them only the Seagate ones have been trouble-free. They just work and keep on working. I have small form factor (2-1/2) portable USB hard drives in sizes from 1 TB to 4 TB, and theyve all given trouble free service. I love to have seagate hard drives. Also i would recommend my friends to go for seagate hard drives. It is different from other storage drives, as the speed of the drive is very unique when we compare with other drives. We can purchase with amazon anytime as it is available for all the users with good price.

I dont know about tech support never needed to call them. I have about 10 of this drives and use them a lot. i have only had to replace 2 for crashes after many years [probably more than 10] of use.

I have had exemplary service from this drive although I do not expect data recovery under the limited warranty nor do I expect a spinning drive (not SSD) to transfer data live a supercomputer. I am a simple person needing simple reliability for simple backups of my simple laptop and desktop. Something to grab in case of fire or hide incase of theft. EZ-PZ. If the third round of economic incentive checks ever materializes I ma buy two more and set up my NAS box. Wouldnt THAT be cool? Yep Yep Yep.

I had them before and they stop working suddenly so you never know when it is going to fail, and if it fails you loose everything.

I had a back drive from Seagate, I had a problem placing the data on a new hard drive. At no charge Seagate recovered the data and installed it a new hard drive, plus replaced my old back up drive with a new one, all at no charge!

Simply plug in and play. 3 years and counting this device still working. Planning to buy it again.

This drive is GREAT!! When I first opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised by how small it was. I bought it for my XBOX One X. I connected it and within 5 seconds it was ready to be used! NO Lie. This was so refreshing compared to what I went through last week when I made the HUGE mistake of buying a WD MyBook 4TB from a different site. For the past 30+ years I was a programmer/analyst, I also used to build PCs for myself, my family and friends. Ive never had any luck with WD drives, but last week I thought I would give them another chance. It died within 2 days!! Ive never, ever had any problems with Seagate. Great product, great quality, great company and great experience overall, as usual! Thank you Amazon and thank you Seagate!!

Love this brand and trust if for my back-ups

For basic backup and archiving, this drive is a superb choice. I have 8 of these drives used this way, and they have all been reliable. I cant comment on using it as an everyday work drive and how it would hold up in that higher-use situation. However, for that, you will be better off with an SSD or a faster mechanical HDD. For archiving and backup, this one is a sure winner.

While all hard drives fail at some point, Seagate drives fail with enough annoying frequency for me to not recommend this drive at all. The Seegate warranty is robust and the returns are accepted and replacement drives are sent back. No problem there. But the failure rate within the warranty period is quite regular. I already backup to redundant external drives. But it is indeed inconvenient to have to backup large volumes of data over again. Do not buy.
