Perfect mic for guitar amps. No stand needed, just hang over the top. Way better than hanging a 57 sideways over your speaker.

Excellent microphone for micking a guitar amp, love the fact you can hang it over the cab and no mic stand is required. Well made and sounds excellent, I am of the opinion it has better frequency range and sounds better than the Sure SM57. Love it!

I love this MIC! I was looking for a good way to put my rig through our PA, and Im not a big fan of DI so I started using a microphone. The problem was that my mics sound great for vocals but not so great for instruments (to my ear, anyway). So I tried the 609 and the 906. They both sound great but the 609 has a warmer sound than the 906, which is what I wanted. So I bought two of them. Now my lead guitarist uses one as well. Its also hard to beat Sennheiser quality. I get compliments about how nice my guitar sounds through the PA.

Low end is not super great, highs are a bit shrill. If you dial things in a bit it does the job, but not super impressed

The Sennheiser e609 is a great sounding mic. For many years I used the Shure SM57 to mic my guitar amp I always had to bring a mic stand for the SM57. Most of the venues we play at that had their own sound enginer would let me try the Sennheiser I like it because first of all you can hang the mic in front of the cabinet (no mic stand needed) even though it came with a mic clip it also handled the high db with no distortion I got the true sound of the amp with no discoloration wich I got from the SM57. A very good mic at a very good price.
