Once I learned how highly regarded this mic is for guitar recording, I couldn’t believe the great price! You get different sounds just from slightly different positioning. The packaging was great and includes a sweet carrying bag. Happy with my purchase.

Nice mic, not great but useful for recording sound from amps.

This thing is just a DREAM for micing guitar amps, especially problematic cabs. My main amp (Peavey Delta Blues) uses a 15 speaker. Trying to mic it with an SM-57 or similar is always a compromise of what kind of coloration Im willing to accept. Hours of recording time and fiddling with placement did eventually allow me to discover a sweet spot. But even then, trying to place such a tiny capsule on a speaker larger than 10 never gets me close to the natural sound of the amp. Something is always hyped or missing. Its always a hunt for the least bad placement. If youre reading this, youre probably familiar with what Im describing.

The Sennheiser e609 is a great sounding mic. For many years I used the Shure SM57 to mic my guitar amp I always had to bring a mic stand for the SM57. Most of the venues we play at that had their own sound enginer would let me try the Sennheiser I like it because first of all you can hang the mic in front of the cabinet (no mic stand needed) even though it came with a mic clip it also handled the high db with no distortion I got the true sound of the amp with no discoloration wich I got from the SM57. A very good mic at a very good price.

These were recommended to me by a sound professional who uses them almost exclusively for micing guitar amps and bass amps at live gigs. His comment about them is that they are as good for the job as a Shure SM58, but a lot easier to place. He just drops them over the front of amps and secures the cable with a little duct tape to the amp.

A great deal and perfect for miking any amp. I purchased two of these and its the best mic Ive used at a great price. Highly recommended for any home studio.

I received this as a Christmas gift last year and I am so pleased I did. I have my gear set up in the bed room so space is at a premium. While I liked the sm57 just as much (both these mics have something the other is lacking), the fact I can hang out over the amp and go is monumental. Also, not being a condenser, it is less picky about placement. It just sounds great no matter where you put it.
