Greater than one weekI like this style so much this style of the Shark Rocket Vacuum this is my 3rd one in 11 years. (So roughly last around 5 years on average). I got the original one when it first came out. I have had two of the HV301. Now I want to try this supposedly improved model HV322. This is lighter than the HV301. I love the ease of use and versatility. You can use on your car too. I do have some of the extra attachment that belong with the HV301, and I am happy that is backwards compatible. Specially the powered small roller brush for furniture. The Suction power is comparable. This one the dust cup/container can be removed from the body. It’s a nice feature but I wish they kept the design of the original container where there is no curvature. When you release the latch, this curve at the bottom cover causes some of the dust to be trapped and does not all go in the trash versus the original just plain straight bottom cover. The main thing that happens to it over time is the hose at the bottom of the floor brush roller breaks. (See picture side by side HV322 and HV301 Floor rollers) I think it’s safe to assume that I would have to replace this hose too, usually every 2 years or so. (Very annoying) They do sell the hose on Amazon. The other issue is the plastic this is made of, becomes brittle and the wheels at the bottom of the floor roller breaks at the snap on (usually happens at year 3 after the warranty is over). The snap latch at the top where the filters are also breaks over time. (Which is what triggered me to buy a new one). The plastic this is made of has a short lifespan. Just enough to get thru the warranty period. But it is a nice convenient vaccumm.

03-06-2025I bought this as a replacement for an aging canister vac. The fundamental design concept of this Shark vacuum is a good one, but the practical details need some work. First the good. The motor, filters, dust collector, and switch are all incorporated in a compact unit in the top, handle part of this vacuum. In most applications the handle unit will be supported by the extension tube and an accessory resting on the floor, so it is not too heavy. The dust collector has a pretty good capacity and will likely get through an average-size house before it needs emptying. The collector itself is well-designed. It can be emptied while still in the handle unit if you happen to be near a trash can, or it can be removed from the unit for easy transport to a trash can. The dirt comes out easily, with no need for shaking and banging and thereby raising big clouds of dust. The cord is long, which allows for a good range without switching outlets. On the other hand, the cord is long, which can cause some inconvenience with wrangling and tangling. It winds up on two holders, and a neat design feature allows you to swing one of the holders down to remove the whole cord without unwinding it one coil at a time. Power and suction seem pretty good, and the LED lights are surprisingly bright and useful. The turning/swivel mechanism works well. And now for the nitpicking. The business end of a vacuum is where the suction meets the dirt, and it is here where the HV322 could use some refinement. I have mostly hardwood floors, so I figured the Dust-Away hard floor attachment would be my most-used accessory. It is like a combination of a Swiffer and a typical floor brush. However, it has two little plastic wheels on it that rub along the floor, making noise and feeling like they are scraping the floor. In addition, it is about three times bigger than a standard canister floor brush, making it harder to move and to get in all the nooks and crannies. Finally, after using it I feel like I have to take it off and vacuum off the dust that accumulates on the microfiber pad. The motorized carpet attachment seems to work pretty well, with a two-speed brush for low or deep pile carpet. It can also be used on hard floors, but with pretty much the same caveats about size and noise. There is a combination crevice tool/dust brush, which seems like a clever idea but in practice is not so good. The catch that lets the dust brush move keeps pinching me, it is too long overall for easy dusting, and it has cheap flimsy plastic bristles. There is also a motorized pet brush that works pretty well. I dont have dogs or much upholstery, but it did a good job in my car, with a swivel that lets the brush adjust to the surface. I thought I could fix the shortcomings by buying a floor brush and dusting brush. But, it turns out the tube diameters used on the Shark Rocket are not the standard 1 1/4 used by most other brands. With much measuring and analyzing of specs, I finally found an adapter

> 3 dayThis Rocket Deluxe Pro seriously blows the competition out the water. If you’re in the market for a “good vacuum” you should read this review to help make your decision. I’ve owned this for a couple weeks now and would like to share an honest opinion about this vacuum. I would like to note that we have hard flooring and pets that shed nonstop. I needed something that would not scratch my vinyl flooring and that could get in tricky spots and pick up massive amounts of pet hair. This thing has done all of this wonderfully, and is exceeding all of my expectations over the past couple weeks that I’ve had it. Some feature that I REALLY like about it: - The headlights as they show hair that I didn’t even previously see and they allow me to vacuum rooms in the dark when I want to just quickly hit an area. I didn’t think lights mattered but they really are nice to have. - The head is extremely easy to move around. It has a pivot point where it swivels around things very easily. I was very impressed with how easy this is to maneuver and all the places I could now get with it. One cool thing is that you can almost lay it completely down (to get under things) and the base vacuum part doesn’t come off the ground at all enabling you to get under your entertainment center, bed, couch, etc. - It literally feels great in my hand while vacuuming. It feels like a nice high quality sturdy vacuum and it’s an enjoyable experience using it. I haven’t had this out of a vacuum in years and it’s a great feeling to actually enjoy vacuuming again since I have to do it every day with my pets. I did a lot of research into vacuums prior to buying this and it was really hard to pick out one that I thought would be the best for me because you can only tell so much by reading about them and you just never know until you try it. Well I assure you that I made the absolute best choice buying this and I would definitely recommend trying this one. You can always send it back through Kohl’s or something if you don’t like it but I freakin love this thing (so much that I made me want to write a review lol.) You will not be disappointed in this vacuum cleaner. Last thing to note is some people complain because it doesn’t stay upright on its own (like when you’re done using it for a moment) but its not been an issue for us at all. To store it we put it in a jacket closet. To stand it up, the handle part can actually be sat on a counter and it’ll hold the whole thing upright, or you can stand it up against a wall. Just saying this because it hasn’t been an issue at all and don’t let that discourage you.

Greater than one weekSo far, seems to work okay. A little disappointed that the listing isn’t accurate - the image shows there’s an attachment clip, but it doesn’t come with one (and the image of accessories isn’t accurate). The Shark store doesn’t even sell a clip that is compatible with the vacuum, so I’m left to find a third party clip that might fit…more time researching and more $$$ to spend now. I chose this vacuum over another similarly rated one, based on the accessories and having a clip to store them on the vacuum. I thought I could trust the Shark Amazon store to be accurate, but not so much.

> 3 dayEdit - 12/2/18: I still love this vacuum! It functions as well as it did on day one, and cleaning the filters every month is super easy. Being bagless, I love that you don’t have to keep buying things as you go. Also, I just got new, high pile, thick shag rugs a few weeks ago, and I was a little worried they would snag on this vacuum because of the reviews some people left on the rug site, but I haven’t had any problems with this vacuum! I just use the first setting and don’t stay too long in one spot. When I want to get trickier things like dog hair off the rugs, I use the special motorized pet attachment and it works really well without snagging the rug at all. You won’t be disappointed with this vacuum! The one thing that is a little annoying is the crevice tool sometimes falls off if you’re jostling around the vacuum a lot (which you will, because this thing is so flexible and goes everywhere), so just make sure to really stick it on there when you put it back. I also love how easily everything comes apart and new attachments slide on. Everything glides and fits so well, and it feels sturdy. I vacuum once or twice a day because of my dog’s double coat, so it really has stood the test of time. I would definitely buy this vacuum again if I had to! Original - 6/26/17: Omg, I didnt think it was possible but I am in LOVE with this vacuum cleaner. Im the type of person who painstakingly researches all of my purchases before going through with them, and this vacuum was no exception. The reviews were great but this vacuum surpassed my expectations. It is light enough to be able to vacuum comfortably but it packs some serious sucking power. I used to have an inexpensive handheld before I got my American Eskimo Dog, and it showed to be no match for his extreme shedding. I was stressing out because a lot of models, even specifically pet ones, had many negative reviews about the hair getting caught and having to stop and remove it several times each vacuuming session. This product has been amazing and Ive never had a problem with anything, especially hair getting caught. I also have long hair (to approximately my mid-back) that winds up everywhere... Sometimes I wonder how I have any left on my head. This vacuum picks everything up like a champ. I clean the roller after every few sessions to ensure there arent any problems. I have a 650 square foot apartment with tile (kitchen and bathroom), laminate flooring everywhere else, and several area rugs (two of them are thick, shaggy ones that my dog loves to lounge on). The True Pet motorized attachment cleans them like brand new in a matter of minutes. Youll be amazed (and maybe horrified) at what it picks up from carpet/rugs. I empty the canister once per session or so when I vacuum the whole apartment, which is great considering how much it picks up. I cant even begin to tell you how pleasant it is to do everything with this vacuum. Moving it, swapping out attachments, and even detaching the handheld top portion to use by itself is a dream. Everything glides in and out so smoothly. I had to struggle with my previous vacuum to attach the various pieces which was really frustrating and led to chipped nails and an annoying experience. It also overheated several times during each session and would shut itself off, so I couldnt clean the whole apartment with it at once. This model never overheats or loses power. You dont realize how much little things like that matter until you have something better. The vacuum has two suction settings: powerful and tornado (not really but youll see how strong it is). It is not too loud though which is really nice. It also has washable filters so paired with the bagless canister, you dont have to waste money replacing these items. The close to $200 price tag seemed a little high to me at first, but after looking around and seeing how high other models go and compared to how amazing this one is, I cant imagine myself using anything else. It makes it a joy to clean. It stores nicely either on the floor (you remove the top handheld portion and hook it on the bottom) or there is a wall attachment. It takes up very little floor space and honestly, it looks nice so you wont mind if it is visible. There are also lights on both the main floor attachment and the handheld attachment which are amazing. You can see all the little dirt and debris and can even vacuum in the dark if you want to (when picking up dog hair its actually almost easier to do so in the dark because of how well these lights work, especially at angles). This vacuum will not disappoint you.
