When my less powerful but more streamlined Shark died I decided to upgrade to this beast. I did more research than I care to admit, and it was with a little trepidation that I chose another Shark. I thought my other vacuum was up to the job, but it really wasnt. It had to handle pet hair, cat litter, antique wood floors and carpeting, and suck up little pieces of Mother Nature that blow in when you live in the woods. I also wanted to easily be able to do steps, vacuum pet hair off furniture, etc. I wanted a work horse. This baby does not disappoint. It has a heft to it that may take a little getting use to, but it is a beast in the cleaning department. Most of the accessories reside on the machine itself, and the wand easily comes away from the base so you can attach one of the tools which travel along with you. It also has a HEPA filter and is bagless. I highly recommend.

I have 3 dogs who shed a lot, I have had high end vaccums from Dyson, Bissell and Hoover. And none of them could do the job my sister in laws 10 years old shark could do. Pick up any shark model, this company knows how to build upright vaccums. Do not buy the robot vaccum though. This particular model is pretty heavy but I have a total of 1 pound of muscle in all of my body. So if you are a petite woman definitely go for any other shark model that’s lighter, I have been around 3 shark vaccums so far and they all rock…

I have large dogs and this vacuum works great for dog hair. I love that the suction is strong, yet not damaging to your rugs and carpets. The swivel head is great and easy to use. The vacuum has under furniture capabilities and a long cord. It’s not real noisy either. The only thing I have negative about this vacuum is it has some weight if I need to carry it. Would buy again

We have two corgis and this is a life saver. I had an older model ( which I still loved) but it would always blow around hair. Design is better for this one. Picks up soooo much! A little on heavier side but fine with me.very happy with my purchase. Edit: we’ve had this now about 7 months. I still think it’s decent but not made as well as my last one. Already a few connection issues with the rotator brush… has to be trouble shooted occasionally since it won’t spin. Also I had to send it back under warranty because the wire somehow became frayed. I doubt this one will last as long as my older model but I’m glad I got it on sale.

Ive been searching for a vacuum that would pick up cat litter scattered on the floor; this Shark is a winner. This is my first time using a Duo and I am impressed. The vacuum is more than I wanted to spend, but that seems to be the norm with any decent vacuum. To address some of the other reviews: a) I have had no issues with vacuum being unstable when stood up. Just make sure the floor part is clicked in / latched into the upright part of the vacuum. I have had it standing on hardwood, tile, and low-pile carpet. b) Yes, the cord is low on the body of the upright part of the vacuum. This is my second Shark canister vacuum and the cord has been low on both of them, probably because of the canister needing to be removable. In order to prevent running over the cord when pulling the vacuum backwards; I lay the first section of the cord up and over the top cord hook. Works great this way.
