SHIMANO Cleats SPD-SL SM-SH10/SM-SH12

Perfect replacement for my worn out cleats. Spend the extra few dollars and get the name brand.

Very good quality. Used these for years. Ive only used Shimano brand cleats. So Im unable to compare other brands. They are a few more dollars than other brands. I would recommend cleat covers to extend the life if you find yourself having to walk around with your cycling shoes on. Also, its less noisy with the covers. A cleat saver when I had a mechanical issue in which I had to walk a few miles to the car. The cleats do hold up well if you have to walk around.

I used two bolt mountain cleats for years. Decided to switch to these three bolt cleats because of hot spots which also meant buying new shoes and pedals. Expensive! Overall, I’m glad I made the switch because the 3 bolt system is much more comfortable when riding. However, there are trade-offs. The 2 bolt cleats are really forgiving of mud and ice; the 3 bolt cleats are not. The 2 bolt cleats are pretty easy to walk in; the 3 bolt cleats are awful to walk in. You definitely need the cleat covers because 1) they make it possible to walk, and 2) they slow down the wear…and wear they will. I went through 2 sets of these in 3 months before I found the covers! These are plastic while the 2 bolt system is metal. So, on the bike these are nearly perfect, but walking, weather, and wear may drive you nuts.

got these in a pinch for a long bike ride across IOWA. Would buy again - always my thought when reviewing something.

SPD sleats for Shimano shoes, the yellow ones have a little play in them I like. The problem is you have no clue when theyll arrive! I got mine today, says not to arrive for almost 2 weeks! If they have no clue when theyre coming they should say so! I was all freaked out thinking they wouldnt arrive by RAGBRAI. Cleats good (wear out quickly, get some covers!) company, delivery estimate is not.

Pretty much like your old ones when that were new. Walking over small rocks and gravel will chew them up quick if you dont watch it. Even once could make them look like your old ones.

Quickest way to change your cleats and have them available when you want and need them. I always keep a spare.
