Sigma 30mm F1.4 Contemporary DC DN Lens for Sony E

There is huge dust particle that looks more like damaged glass inside of the lens (sensor side). Exactly the same damage on two lenses I ordered. Both lenses had dust particles inside of the lens on the other side too. First one was ordered through Ado*ama. Terrible service. Took them eight days to respond to my email. So, I had to pay return label. Amazon sends labels automatically while they initiate shipping of the replacement right away.

This Sigma lens is the perfect all around lens for the NEX 7. Exceptionaly high quality, quiet, precise focusing and sharp as any lens I have seen. Highly recommend

My lens came defective with a dirty spot inside of the lens, I took it with a profesional too se if the spot was on the inside, but it clearly seemed that the spot was on the inside, I got no help from the seller, and now Im stuck with a defective lens. Worst experience on amazon.

I bought this lens after David Taylor-Hughes and Roger Cicala independently described it as the lens deal of the year. If you want a dissenting view, see Kurt Mungers review: he suggests this lens is too similar to the 18-55mm kit zoom lens that most NEX owners already have (the Sigma allows larger aperture, the zoom has SteadyShot). Like others here, I have found this lens sharp, smallish, lightweight, inexpensive, and a useful focal length. However, for my style of photography, I think Kurt has a valid point.

It is lightweight, sharp, and has good contrast and color. It teams up nicely with my new NEX. The focal length is useful and unobtrusive.

Great for everything all around but they don’t talk about the distance from your subject is at least 4 ft to capture their face and neck so for vlogging it isn’t the best. Also there’s no zoom features sadly.

This is a good beginning prime lens for apsc sony cameras. I use this for street photography which is great. Would reccomend if you are coming from kit to a prime lens for this price.

Inexpensive, but really helps you to get good photos. If you are a beginner, you should buy this lens.
