This has been going strong for me for over a year now. I bought it when I was in Afghanistan so its been shipped around the world a couple times and it still works like new. While I havent dropped it yet, the shock proof design (they say its been tested) is the main reason I wanted this one. Ive lost hard drives in the past from giving them a little bump and I didnt want to lose another. It really does seem to be a rugged hard drive and I anticipate many more years of use. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who plans on moving the thing from time to time.

I have two units which I received in a very timely manner. I had to use tech support to get some clarification on the registration process. It was prompt and accurate. I extended the 1 year warranty to 3 years when I registered the product. I do daily backups using both Time Machine and a cloning software (SuperDuper!) on one unit for a week, switch units from an offsite location, and then repeat the process. So far it has worked flawlessly. I have confidence that the rubber bumper design of the edges will, within reason, provide good protection if dropped. No complaints.

I love these drives. I now own three of them. I love that they don’t require a separate power cable. I love the rubberized sides so they can take some light dropping without breaking. I love that the little USB cord grips onto the side. It’s easy to hand this off to someone without having to separately bundle up and rubber band a cord. It’s all one nice handy package and it talks to my PC and my friends’ Macbooks without any trouble after I formatted it to exFAT. If this form factor came in bigger sizes like 8 TB, I would buy one in a heartbeat. In the meantime, I’ll settle for three of these 2 TB ones.

Been using this for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it!!! It is a true plug and play with no need for a damn power supply cord, No setups required, works on both Mac and Windows systems, Plus it is light enough to move around with. All in a nice shock proof cover. Now I havent tested that out intentionally yet and I pray not too but it does looks and feels like it would survive it. I dont know about the transfer speed though. Im patient enough that it doest matter too much to me. Hopefully I think I have found a new company to rely on for my storage needs.

Definitely bang for your buck. I have had it for about 4 days now and already have about a TB of games installed for PS4. Runs smooth to. No lag when playing games.

This is a great product. The reasons that I bought another unit from Silicon Power are: 1. Bought their 1 TB version a couple of years ago and it works flawlessly - ran out of room. 2. Bought the 2 TB version this time in hopes of saving more stuph (photographs; RAW and processed mainly). 3. A primary caveat for me is that its power by the USB cable - no external power needed which makes this perfect for traveling and backups for the just in case. 4. Its reasonably priced too. Would definitely buy this product again and from this company. Excellent.

I would liked a longer cable. since my USB port is high on my computer, I had to putt some books to hold device where it is not dangling because the cable is to short! I hope manufacturer corrects this flaw in the design.

Well see how this holds up, but for a shock proof enclosure the case materials feel cheap and fragile. One BIG issue is it has a non-standard computer side large USB connector on the device side (not the standard USB-3 spade with the little ridge in it). I was expecting a STANDARD USB-C to USB-3 cord, instead it is a non-standard cord with a little adapter. =( It works, but is incompatible with all other USB-3 drives I own.

The storage capacity is done well enough; it has the typical nearly 10%-15% of the 2GB occupied by system data or whatnot. The Tech support gets 5 stars because I have yet to need their assistance with how well this works. Data flows quickly and constantly. The portability of this device is amazing. it is the perfect size for travel, and the fact that the connector cable secures perfectly to the casing is a great feature. I never have to worry about damaging the drive or loosing the cable. Speaking of the casing, it in itself is quite a nice feature. lightweight, and it protects the drive fairly well; I have not done much to test the extent of the durability because i do not want to intentionally inflict damage to my drive, however, from just regular everyday usage, the protective casing is a nice and secure feeling which leaves everything working perfectly fine.

I wanted to clean wipe my computer of all the junk on it I am unaware of and start fresh so I bought this product to back up all my music and pictures. It looks awesome and feels durable and fits like a cellphone in my hand. I transferred 100s of gigs of data in just a couple min it was so fast I am very satisfied with this product! 5 Stars from me!
