Snappy Tools Plug Cutter, 3/8

> 3 dayDoes cut a 3/8” plug cleanly and with a nice tapered end if you drive it all the way down. I’ve cut about 30-35 plugs in hard sapele and I have had no problems at al. I use my drill press on the slow speed- that’s important. And it cuts the hard wood well. It does heat up some after about our plugs I stick it in some water and start again.

> 3 dayNo complaints. This little thing works perfectly on mahogany, but probably requires a drill press, which is what we used.

> 3 daymust be used in a solid drill press for optimum results... If tried with a hand drill, it will dance all over the place because the tips are very sharp and travel before penetrating.

> 3 dayI used this to cut plugs for use on my Trex deck --using a scrap piece of Trex decking. It worked perfectly. One hint: This plug cutter is designed to leave a narrowed top to then invert for easy insertion into wood. So, for use in Trex, do not cut to full depth to avoid the tapered top. With Trex you need the full top to match the Trex.

> 3 dayDisappointed with this product. Plugs are very rough, get stuck, and most are unusable.

Greater than one weekGreat results. The 3/8 size matches up perfectly with the hole left from the dewalt countersink bits. https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW2535-Piece-Countersink-Assortment/dp/B0000225OU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494871473&sr=8-2&keywords=dewalt+countersink+bit

Greater than one weekI have a 1/2 plug cutter that Ive never had an issue with. I bought this 3/8 plug cutter and tried to cut a plug. The first attempt didnt leave a usable plug, it tore up the wood. On the second attempt, three of the four cutters sheared off.

> 3 dayWhen set up in the drill press with a positive stop, this cutter reproduces perfect plugs from hardwoods.

> 3 dayHard to control, not precise.

> 3 dayThe worst plug cutter Ive ever used. Tons of chatter and the resulting plugs were smaller than 3/8.
