> 3 dayI bought these to use when we walk inside the local mall during the very hot days of summer. They have exceeded my expectations in every way. Many days the mall noise is uncomfortable without some ANC. These are the best I have ever used for ANC. The sound quality is outstanding to my ears and I listen to a lot of classical music where it is easy to notice any performance issues. All of the controls work just as they should. I sometimes wear them for several hours at a time and they are quite comfortable. Calls are easy and always clear. I also own the Sony WF1000XM4 set and when wearing headphones is appropriate I usually choose the headphones over the also excellent XM4 set. Bluetooth just works perfectly with my phone and windows computer. No hassles ever. Music is important to me and these make it more enjoyable.

> 3 dayI’ve owned the M3 version since 2019. I’ve absolutely loved them, especially for travel. I have used them for 3 years+ and easily justified buying The updated version this year. WOW. I’ve had them not even 20 minutes and the sound quality/noise cancellation has improved drastically. AND the case collapsing will come in handy when I throw them into my carry on backpack! I love music/speakers/headphones and I promise you these are worth the cost!!

> 3 dayAs an ardent audio enthusiast who owns an array of audiophile headphones, I am absolutely thrilled with my new purchase. These headphones have exceeded my expectations and made a remarkable addition to my collection. What sets these headphones apart, and the main reason for my purchase, was their highly touted noise-cancellation and ambient adjustment features. These features have proven invaluable when I am in crowded environments such as at work or the library, allowing me to truly focus on the task at hand. Whether its delving into a new book or tackling an intricate work project, the world around me falls away, leaving just me and my work. However, what really takes these headphones to the next level is their phenomenal sound quality. I have had the pleasure of listening to many of my favorite tracks with them, and each experience has been an absolute delight. The sound clarity and fidelity have brought a new depth to my music that I had not previously experienced. In conclusion, these headphones deliver an exceptional audio experience while also providing excellent ambient noise management for those seeking a focus-inducing environment. I wholeheartedly recommend them to fellow audiophiles and anyone else seeking high-quality, immersive audio in any environment.

> 3 dayI own both Beats solo3 and it, and I have to say, they feel completely different! The bass of Beats is more professional, but the XM5 is lighter and completely covers the ears, so I wont feel uncomfortable wearing it for a long time. This time I choose XM5!(I didnt give 5 stars because there is a small hole in the earphone wrap, so I cant give it a perfect score)

> 3 dayI don’t notice any exceptional sound quality with these headphones (to my disappointment). However, I do have an aggravating problem with the headphones cutting out while listening. The headphones cut out an average of every 10 or 15 minutes, which kind of ruins the whole listening experience.

> 3 dayIm not sure if the issues is that my unit is just faulty or if its a common trend of this exact product. After spending about $400 on a headset, you will think it should be good right out the box but its not. I have had better experiences with headset 1/3 of the price. 1. My unit goes in and out of ANC (active noise canceling) without touching the audio source, in this case my phone, laptop or other devices. It also does this on calls without the ANC being on, it turns it self on. 2. I had to turn off all gestures or control because the headphones kept stopping my music or video every few minutes when in use. 3. The sound, mic and ANC when it works are okay but I dont think these are worth all the issues that comes right out the box with the headset. Im not sure if this headphones have an update that will fix these issues but my experience has been absolutely horrible given I spent so much money on the product. I will try to update it and see if that changes anything but I dont think so. Save your money or buy a different brand, because Im fairly certain that other headset manufacturers are making something better.

> 3 dayNoise cancelation is amazing. The battery life is amazing ! I use them daily for work. Sound quality is good but I do wish they went louder because I like my music LOUD. Design is beautiful, I’m very happy with them.

> 3 dayI had a very nice performing budget ANC headphones for a few years, which unfortunately not sold anymore. As they statted peeling off and I accidentally broke one side, decised to go to a new pair. The issue is that I recently was very disappointed with high advertised medium priced headphones, so after a bunch of research I went to these, as multiple sources indicated xm4 or xm5 as best recommendation. It is understated luxury. Box not flashy, headphones smooth without any huge brand names, fit perfectly, came in galf charged. After turning them on, I did not even need to invoke pairing dialog on my laptop, it automatically jumped out offering to pair. After paired to my phone and installing app, it automatically caught that I use Google Assistant and not Alexa and suggest to be linked to. Taps and swipes for managing volume, pause, tracks are so intuitive, I needed only to glance through the instructions and see hold and swipe, and it made sense. So far first impression is great - you pay not for flashiness, but for comfort, quality and ease of use. I still need to read more about multipoint pairing between phone and laptop, as I want to be able to listen to music from phone, but respond to meeting calls coming in from laptop wherever needed.

> 3 dayFirst I had the XM2,3,4 so I loved this type of Sony headphones but this is probably last one. Right from the start, it feel cheap. They cut back on material to save cost it seemed. They cut back on feature such as NFC. And you cant fold it anymore with this new design. Initially, you cant turn off adaptive sound control which means the headohone will automatically change noise cancelling to ambient sound base on your action. Look, I only wear this indoor so I always just need Noise Cancelling! Their stupid new tech will always get it wrong and when it changes, it took about 2 seconds. Its very annoying! Edit: Okay, they did update the adaptive sound control so we can in fact leave it to just noise cancelling 100% of the time. But it shouldnt need an update just to do this. Now, finally the nail to coffin is this thing sometimes couldnt stop beeping! With their touchpad control, when you tap left or right of the headphone, you are suppose to hearing a tiny beep as feedback so that youd know you tap it 3 times for example. But on mine, when absolutely nothing is touching those touchpad, it kept on beeping sometimes. In worst case scenario, it beeps hundreds of times per minute forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on to solve it temporarily..... Now, please understand, I went through internets trying to resolved this. People have had this problem on Sonys forum and many others discussion site such as StackExchange and reddit. NO, I cant do anything in option to stop it. My touchpad control option was already OFF. It was always off because Ive never need to use it. The Quick Access settings are always NONE because once again, I never need to change it from Noise Cancelling. Please believe me, Ive search through forums, tried every possible options in the app, NONE of them work.... The only conclusion at the end of every discussion is Sony must update it so that it could be an option from the app. But as of June of 2023, there was no option to turn the beeps off! This of course is deal breaker for me which is a shame because I always preferred Sony NC and sound quality and the XM5 sound quality is great when it wasnt interrupted by uncontrollable beeping. I believe Ill try Bose next year.

> 3 dayI bought these specifically for work to drown out all of the side conversations in my office. I have zero complaints and this was probably my best purchase of 2022. The noise canceling is great and the sound quality is clean. I like that these have adaptive features based on what Im doing or my surroundings, and I can talk to others without taking them off if. I read about seeing fingerprints on these in black so opted for the silver. But I gravitated towards the silver anyways because I tend to prefer neutral muted tones.
