I started using this after I got a slew of sicknesses earlier this year. I was hit with it all-- started with a cold, turned into a sinus infection, turned into bronchitis, then another sinus infection! April and May 2011 were consumed with sick for me. A friend of mine told me about Wellness Formula, so I started taking it to hopefully recover faster. (I was willing to try anything!) A serving size is 6 pills. When you see/smell these pills, swallowing 6 of them will appear impossible. I have yet to take 6 all at once. I just started taking one per day for a week, then two per day. I feel it really helped me recover from all my illnesses. Usually takes me a couple weeks to get over a sinus infection. After taking two per week I sprung back to life quicker than I ever have. Now I take one per day as a preventative, and if I feel icky I take two. Heres some tips: Take each pill with a FULL glass of water and some food. If you dont do this, expect to burp up a really gross flavor. (Ew.) If you feel the need to take the full dosage, I suggest spacing out the pills throughout the day! Your stomach might feel a bit upset at first, but this pill contains a lot of herbs and vitamins that most of us arent used to. Also, since starting to take this pill, Ive noticed my fingernails are much healthier, they grow like weeds, and never break. (Which is awesome if youre a girly girl like me! Ha.) Highly recommend!

These pills seem to work well for me. I have a weak immune system and when I have a cold it usually lasts for over a week. But when I had these and I was sick, it lasted only a few days and the aftermath of coughing out leftover mucus was significantly shorter as well. Only problem is that these things taste like rancid mold and hydrochloric acid. I HIGHLY recommend filling your mouth with water BEFORE you put the pill in your mouth to avoid touching it directly with your tongue. DO NOT smell the open bottle. DO NOT take more than one pill at a time, and space out the time between pills. For the love of God, DO NOT take these on an empty stomach. You will start retching caustic mold fumes into your mouth and nasal cavity and you will regret it horribly. Take them one at a time, over time, and with food in your stomach. Do that, and youll be fine.

I take the wellness capsules if I feel a cold coming on. It reduces the symptoms quickly!

I travel about 4 months out of the year, and the only time I ever get sick is while traveling; on planes, in taxis, in crowded public spaces, its hard to avoid other peoples germs. I am a huge believer in high quality vitamins, and take a variety regularly depending on my needs. My normal travel vitamins used to include C, zinc, echinacea and goldenseal, and Id carefully combine the various tablets and pills into one bottle for each trip. When I found this at my local health food store with EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY WANT out of an immune-support and virus-fighting multivitamin, I thought it was probably too good to be true. Well, I have not been sick in a year and a half despite all of the hand-shaking, crowds, and germ-y surfaces so common in public spaces. Before and during a trip, if I am not feeling any symptoms, I take 1-3 capsules per day as a maintenance dose. If I feel any cold/sinus/cough/etc. symptoms, I take the recommended 6 capsules. That might sound like a lot, but following their directions really works. I keep one small bottle (the 60 cap size) in my carry-on travel bag and a larger bottle at my office. There is a slight herbal aftertaste, but you can take it with a tea/coffee/juice that hides the flavor rather than water. It doesnt bother me, but it is noticeable. I usually purchase things like this locally, but the $7 pricetag on Amazon beats the $20 version at my health food store. Cannot recommend this highly enough! UPDATED October 26, 2015: Not sick for almost 2.5 years! UPDATED September 12, 2016: Not sick for a long freakin time!

Potent and effective and probably the best product made by Source Naturals. I believe this is the best herbal immune support product on the market. This stuff is truly amazing. Been using it for many years. Anytime I feel like I’m getting sick, this is my go to. I take the suggested 6 capsules every few hours and it either stops the illness or shortens it. Every so often I will take a few capsules for maintenance. It does have a slight garlic taste so I like to take it with juice. Nothing unbearable but they are a lot of pills to swallow and juice helps get them down easier. This is a medicine cabinet staple year round. Highly recommend this amazing supplement!

I swear by these during sick season and all year round - they really do help! The capsules are easier to swallow than the tablets (you do need to take 4-6 per serving, as instructed, to get the health benefits) and there is a slight herbal taste that lingers, but nothing too intense. These are typically ~$10 cheaper than they are if you buy in-store at Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc.

LEGIT - this stuff is great. I went into a Vitamin Shoppe and asked what I could take for an oncoming cold. The person working told me the whole staff takes this. Take at the first signs of possible cold/flu and you may not get one at all! Or if you do, it shortens it considerably and lessens symptoms. Its a bit expensive and you have to take a lot and frequently when needed, thus 4 stars.

On another site (iherb) I discovered that there are 2 different products called Wellness Formula. Although they both say Herbal Defense Complex, the newer one is titled Wellness Formula, With Andrographis and Propolis Extract. It contains NO echinacea according to the label ingredients displayed. For the other one, it says: This is the original version of Wellness Formula with Echinacea. For the new version with more Andrographis Extract instead of Echinacea. When you go to the company site, there is no such information. I gave this 4 stars only because I had to give stars, and I do like the original product, but I assumed echinacea to be a key ingredient. If it is not included in this product, then I dont know if I want it. Its too much trouble for me to try to determine whether 175 mg andrographis and no echinacea is as effective for me as 100 mg. andrographis and 360 mg or 270 mg echinacea, so I would rather go with the product I am familiar with. I have written to Source Naturals about the problem, but amazon needs to show the accurate ingredients on its products. There is no way to know whether Wellness Formula sold by other sellers on amazon is the same as this one. Update: I just received this explanation from Source Naturals: Due to the unavailability of raw materials for our Wellness Formula, we sometimes had to make temporary and permanent changes to keep it in stock. Our Research and Development Department has stated that with the new reformulation of Wellness Formula, it now contains more plant extracts than before which results in higher amounts of beneficial phytochemicals. No ingredients providing benefits to immune functions were reduced in potency by switching from whole plants to extracts. Regarding the different labels, the reason you may be seeing different supplement information on various retailer websites is because they have not updated to the most current product label. Wellness formula works I have been taking them for about five years and feel great all the time.
