> 3 dayUsually works fine but sometimes gets jammed extended, and takes jiggling in just the right way to get it to retract again.

> 3 dayRugged, tough and well built. Hopefully it will last a long time but I guess thats why you pay more for a Stanley..

> 3 dayAs others have said. This doesnt wind itself back in as good as it should. It regularly gets stuck with about 2 feet still to wind in. The lock feature as well is also quite poor and regularly doesnt work. I only use it once a month as well for DIY purposes so its not like its as a result of overuse. It would also have been good if the metal was a bit thicker so it doesnt always require a second person to hold the tape if you need to measure over 3 feet, even if this meant it needing a bigger case.

Greater than one weekNice little measuring tape. Defiantly worth the money!

> 3 dayExcellent tape measure with both metric and imperial measurements possible. Easy to read and of good quality as you would expect from a Stanley tool. Because of the 8 meter capability it’s quite large and heavier than the average tape measure but I haven’t found that a problem. Good item

Greater than one weekI bought the 8 metre tape. As others have said. This doesnt wind itself back in as good as it should. The problem, I think, is that its a LONG tape measure squeezed into a small case so not much room in there for a decent rewind-spring. It would have been much better if theyd made the case bigger and fitted a decent spring in there. Others have said that its flimsy. I cant say Ive noticed that to be honest. I just dont stand there trying to see how far I can stick it out before it bends. Ive got better things to do. But with such a long tape in such a small case I can imagine the makers did use a thinner metal to get it all in there. But I havent noticed that but, as I said, it would have been better in a bigger case. All in all though its an average tape. Maybe with a bit of use itll start winding back in a bit smoother. If it breaks then it didnt cost a lot of money. If I was buying another I wouldnt buy this one.
