Strathmore 566-8 500 Series Hardbound Mixed Media Art Journal, 8.5x11 32 Sheets

I love this journal so much! I use it for watercolor, sketching, and even gouache. The colors dont bleed or mud (unless a lot of water is being used), and the colors dont show on the other side of the paper which is awesome. When I first opened it, I was worried that the pages wouldnt fold flat, but the more I opened and used the journal, the less stiff it became. I recommend this sketchbook 100% !

I love this more than the moleskin. Im just an ameture watercolorist but I do want sturdy paper to paint on. It does have this weird waterproofing on the backside but its not terrible for me. Maybe if youre a bit more advanced youd be bothered but Im happy with my book. I brushed and erased a lot on the pages and it holds well and hasnt rubbed off. I recommened this over the moleskin journal. I think its cheaper too!

Love this watercolor book

I love this watercolor sketchbook. The 400 series paper is the same I buy in larger pads and it works really well as long as you don’t overwork it when it’s really saturated with water which will cause some pilling. The hardcover is amazing and the size is great. I’ve used regular watercolors as well as watercolor pencils in it and the amount of buckle compared to other pads I’ve tried is really minimal. I brought it with me on a long road trip and was able to use it easily in the car and hotel room which was awesome. I’m going to add these little books to my list of art supplies to always have on hand because they work so well for me. Attaching a video so you can see the thickness and color/size of the paper more accurately. Two things I would change- you really can’t use both sides of the paper fully. I would maybe use one side for watercolor and the other for ink drawings in a pinch so for painting you’re really only getting half the advertised number of sheets. I would also love if the pages were perforated so they could be easily removed if wanted. I often remove pages to scan my work or rip out pages I don’t like and in this book it’s really hard to get the pages out. The price is a bit high, I though about it a long time before finally purchasing but I’m glad I did. In my opinion this book is worth the price for its quality and convenience.

This is perfect product for my needs. Takes a good amount of water and accepts my pigments pleasantly. Doesnt dry to quickly so allows time for manipulation of the paints. Ive also used other mediums on it and it went well. I do not however recommend using colored pencils on them tho, didnt blend well.

Didnt check the quality yet. The sketchbook came in with stains that dont come off on the cover. A real disrespect for my money and trust.
