Unfortunately, I had to return this book as it wasnt sturdy enough to handle water and paint.

Good sketch book

The Strathmore 400 Series Hard Bound Sketch/Notebook 8.5x11.5 and 5.25x8.5 is ideal for a graduation present, especially for one going on to college.

i really like the quality of this paper watercolor pencils and color pencil are so easy to aply on it

I’ve been watercolor journaling / mixed media journaling for 5 years , and this is my favorite sketchbook i’ve used so far. I don’t think I’ll buy cheaper ones or lower quality paper after using this. The binding is a little stiff at first, but it will become flexible. I used both sides of each paper and got no bleeding between them, and little buckling while painting even with a lot of water. :)

Thinner than I thought to be honest and it looks like theres all kinds of white smudges on the back cover of the one I received that wont come off. Never buying again.

The cover is a bit soft and the pages have a slight texture, but overall its a good sketchbook. A bit thin at 192 pages but its okay. I would not recommend this sketchbook for markers or any other wet media since it bleeds quite a lot to the back. Ink pens, pencils, color pencils, charcoal/graphite, and pastels work great.

As with all Strathmore products, the quality is topline. I use it in my art classes. Very hard to damage. I has fallen a couple of times but the corners remain undamaged. Great value, I will buy again.
