Perfect. Well constructed.

I doodle, watercolor, mixed media, glues, paints, lettering, drawing & all sorts of materials. I love this journal. For those who worry about bleeding through, I glue two pages together OR I use some scrap paper to back it. I bought two of these and will buy more great for all types of uses.

I really like the size and quality of the paper. I use it mainly for gouache painting. However, it doesn’t lay flat at all, which makes doing anything difficult without binder clips. I’ll try the softcover next to see it it will work better.

An sich ist das Skizzenbuch toll, leider nimmt es Farbe nicht so gut auf wie manch andres Papier und leider ist diese nach dem trocknen auch nicht so intensiv. Für Ein Skizzenbuch aber absolut ausreichend.

The cold press “tooth” grain is on one side of the paper, and most of the paper was loaded and bound incorrectly so the grain is on the wrong side for most of the pages for my particular notebook. Kind of annoying, but it’s a good hardcover watercolor sketchbook.

The notepad is good, sturdy, very nice cover and great format. Works well for gouache, fineliners, colored pencils though I’ve intended to use it for watercolors and inks in the first place. I got really excited when I’ve read that it’s 100% cotton but when it tried it - I didn’t like how the paper performed for the watercolor paints - the paint is hard to move around and almost impossible to lift, it stains paper immediately. Other than that - great purchase.

I bought this book for colored pencil sketches. Its ok - but I still like my Stillman & Birn books better for some reason. I think it might be the weight and tooth of the substrate.

I love this more than the moleskin. Im just an ameture watercolorist but I do want sturdy paper to paint on. It does have this weird waterproofing on the backside but its not terrible for me. Maybe if youre a bit more advanced youd be bothered but Im happy with my book. I brushed and erased a lot on the pages and it holds well and hasnt rubbed off. I recommened this over the moleskin journal. I think its cheaper too!
