    Greater than one week

My husband and daughter have rod cone dystrophy so night time vision is extremely slim for them. We have purchased several of these G2X for having in purses and backpacks for easy to grab use for them. The flashlights are great, have held up wonderfully being thrown in all sorts of bags. Always ready when we need them, bright and helpful. I like them for at night when I hear noises way out at the barn, all other flashlights spread and disappear long before reaching the barn, these find the critter making the racket and help me run it off without leaving the deck.

Since this light is so well reviewed and detailed online and in other reviews I will focus on the questions I had prior to purchase but couldnt find answers and some of my experiences with the light that I didnt see elsewhere. 1. Is 15 Lumens too low for regular use considering high is 360? - No, 15 lumens is great for average use. I have no issues with the low level being too low for my needs. 2. Battery life an issue considering the high lumens? – I used the light on a week-long camping trip and primarily used the low setting but frequently used high for very short periods. The batteries are still solid. I bought a back-up set of batteries just in case, but haven’t needed them yet. Some of the things I noticed about the light that I haven’t seen elsewhere: The tail cap switch/button is not as positive as I would expect from Surefire. This was especially true when I was just using the push and hold for momentary light. I played with the spring under the cap a bit and it really improved the issue but it’s still not ideal. Often I end up with the high beam when I dont want it which can blind me when being used close up. The nitrolon body feels like aluminum. I was expecting a rubbery feel based on the description but the body is actually very hard and looks very much like the aluminum head. A nice surprise and alleviates any concerns I had about its future durability. My light has a very small piece of plastic or rubber sticking out of the gap between the head and body. I assume this is some sort of gasket that was displaced when the head was attached to the body. It’s barely noticeable and doesn’t seem to affect performance but clearly is not supposed to be that way and is probably a manufacturing defect. The retail packaging is a real pain to open. I know it helps prevent theft at point of sale and protects the product but I had to work way to hard to get the light out of the packaging. I am really pleased with the light and don’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This flashlight will get the job down, the low output gives you enough light to see whats in front of you. The high output will flood youre entire field of vision with light. Only drawback there is no way to add a strap

Its a surefire, and you know what that means, whomever is looking into it whether youre mounting it on a gun or just using it around the house, theyre sure to have their retinas melted right out of their sockets. I also enjoy that this model has a softer light setting in case youre not looking to use 6 batteries in one night, and it really makes the batteries last, you know, until its time for retina melting.

Dependable, but the switching from low to high is not to my liking.

I am writing this review 3 years after purchasing my first G2X. Ive worked on and off as a delivery driver since 2014, this flashlight was with me every night, and has been used daily, sometimes for close to an hour at a time. It gets hot with lengthy use, but thats not unexpected. The beam is focused, very bright, and goes a good distance. I have since bought 3 other G2X lights, and numerous other Surefire products. Surefire have great customer service, and stand behind their products. The batteries are the worst part, they are pricey, and can be burned up fairly quickly, but this light is worth it.

I love this flashlight. Good balance. It fits in the hand very comfortably. Uses 2 CR123 Li Ion batteries. This kind of batteries have good shelf life. The chance of leaking is much lower than regular alkaline batteries. They have more power than AA batteries. I bought a few of them to put around the house and in cars. The dual output is very handy. I have never tested the durability by dropping or throwing it across the room intensionally. I also want a few flashlights for emergency use that whenever I pick them up, they will work. But SureFire has this reputation that they want to maintain and I choose to trust it. When the time comes I will see.

So far so good. I was nervous about it being polymer but honestly when I opened it up I thought theyd goofed and sent me the aluminum version on accident. It seems very tough and wow is it bright. I was torn on whether i wanted the 500 lumen version but I know already that 320 will be plenty. Great little flashlight!

This is a very Nice Flashlight! I use it at work in a shop environment as my everyday flashlight and love it. I will be purchasing more from the Surefire family for pretty much every one of my flashlight needs. Made in the USA! I highly recommend this flashlight to all!

Very nice light. Durable, bright white light. Low power setting is great. Absolutely great light for the cost. The body fits perfect in a 1 inch ring mount for a rifle/shotgun. Probably too big to put in your pocket in my opinion but would work great for around the house or in a car.
