I love this flashlight. I wanted a high quality flashlight and when I found this on sale I had to buy it. The dual output is great. The lower output 15 lumen is a good option for when you dont need as much light. But you also have the full 320 lumens for spotlighting, longer distance illumination, etc. You can do momentary on/off or fully click the button for constant on. You cant beat the price, quality, and output of this light as well as the reputation of Surefire. This light is awesome and may find itself on the end of my AR once it is built.

This is basically the cheapest LED Surefire light you can buy. That does not mean quality was sacrificed at all. This flashlight is bomb-proof. I wanted a tactical light for home defense, but chose this light because I wanted to use it for other purposes besides blinding intruders. Because of this, the light does not have a tactical tailcap. On the tactical versions, you press the tailcap for a blinding light. Let go, and the light turns off. If you want it to stay on, you twist the end until it turns on. Untwist to turn off. I knew this model didnt have those features; however, I can still accomplish the same goal. It just takes a little getting used to. On this model, you can press gently for the low power mode. Let go and the light goes off. Press harder to click on until you click off. Press again within two seconds for high power. And again harder to click on and off. This is where you lose the tactical edge. I was really hoping that the high power mode would be first. Even though it isnt, you can still train to get close to what you want. The instructions say click on and off, then again to get to high mode. You actually only have to push until the light comes on. You do not have push hard enough to click it locked on. This means instead of clicking on, off, then on again with three clicks. You can gently press twice(not far enough to hear the click) and very quickly get high power. Just be careful not to press too hard to accidentally click onto the low power mode. With a little practice, it was very easy to operate the way I wanted. Other than that, this cheap Surefire is an amazing light with crisp even light distribution and will probably outlast me.

Awesome flashlight. Wish I had read more that it only uses ShurFire batteries. Fortunately they are not expensive, unfortunately they are not convenient.

Works great! I like the low and high beam and how it works. High beam is very bright! Great size. I keep it in my bedside table. I could use a couple more actually. My son uses it at work and recommended it. He had given me a smaller one that I carried in my purse. Just sick about losing it.

Im a diehard Surefire fan, but I hate the prices... If you are LEO/MIL, you can register for their discount through their web page. It sure makes their stuff more affordable! That said, the Amazon price for this updated G2X is well below even the LEO/MIL discount from Surefire. And its LED, so it (theoretically) should last longer between battery changes! I own three of the older G2 models, two of which have deployed with me, one of them twice. I never had one issue with either light (though I also have a Surefire battery caddy w/ spare lense and six batteries). While I was not a door kicker, I was outside the wire a lot, both in convoy operations and in aircraft. I used these flashlights A LOT over the course of each deployment. Not a single mechanical failure, even in the insane heat during the summers. These three now reside on my AR15s as weapon lights and this new G2X is on my belt. Have I said how much I love these G2 flashlights?? Buy one. Or two. You wont be disappointed (except maybe in battery life, but bright light sucks battery juice...) Oh, and get a caddy and a spare bezel or two...

I bought a few of these for around the house lights that I dont care about. The low setting is more than ample for a night light to get around the house or read and the high output lights up rooms very well. They feel cheap compared to the all aluminum machined Surefire lights but they are also less expensive. I still prefer the 6P for a carry light with a constant on-off tailcap with retainer for carry on the belt. The double tap to get to high output isnt complex but in a carry light, it should come on full strength immediately IMHO.

I use the light everyday at work and have dropped it from a moving truck many time. It has never failed and the batteries last forever on the low setting. Great for finding address on houses at night on high beam and using low for all the rest.

Good bright flashlight, not a fan of the two sages of brightness and also how you have to get to the two stages. Other than that, easy 4 stars for price and what you get.

I bought this as a backup to my 3 cell LED maglite, but has rapidly become my favorite for regular use. Its durable, and although its not as bright as some, its got a great throw, and its still super bright and will easily light up literally anything on high mode. I originally disliked the fact that low mode was first, and I had to double press the rear button to put it on high mode, but honestly its great now. If I need it to say, check an ID, its nice not to immediately blind myself, my partner, the person whos ID Im reading, and everyone in a 1 mile radius... If I need to do that, I have the ability to. When I eventually lose it, Im definitely going to buy another one. My only issue with it is that it doesnt come with a pocket clip. You can easily get one for it though, I use the Thyrm low profile carry clip.
