For what I need, it seems very stout and robust.

This could have been sent out damaged or it was the poor packing (as others mentioned it ships lose in box). There are chips along the straight edge. Slight arch in center. The non-slip webbing looks sloppy and it is not durable, as bits came off on arrival. I would buy a cork backed srtraight edge made of stainless that wont chip.

Not straight, which is kind of a dealbreaker for a straight-edge. Its bowed in the middle, creating up to a 3/8 deviance across the length if one end is held against an actually flat/straight surface.

Thick extruded aluminum. Lightweight but well made. I use for sewing and cutting cloth.

Checked it against my precision ground straight edge that I use to setup my woodworking machines and this wasnt straight enough for me. Itll probably do for general use and crafts but I was hoping for something more true. Perhaps this isnt meant to be that accurate. Either way, it wasnt what I wanted.
