Great for tethering cables to a camera.

A necessary item for preventing port damage & cable disconnects. Doesnt always fit snug on the cable so I use a small zip tie or a thin strip of gaffers to secure it.

I have doubts about the name of this product. I dont know how well it would stop a USB cable from being jerked out of the port. The plan is not to find out. The tether cord or thread that you tie off to your camera strap lug ring is very thin. Weak link. This could be a bit more robust for the money. There is no substitute for being careful with your cord. I bought this to serve as a cable strain relief. I position the clamp on the cable at a point that keeps the cord pointing straight out of the port (as shown) before it begins to curve away from the camera body. My camera is usually on a tripod when I shoot tethered. It probably is best to just let the cord get yanked out of the camera vs the risk of your rig crashing to the ground because the cable is now tethered to your camera. Anyhow, the JerkStopper does serve well as a cable relief to keep the cord exiting straight out of the USB port preventing gravity from tugging on your port. I keep the tether on the camera strap ring at all times and I keep the clamp on the cable at all times. I use the quick disconnect to join the two when I shoot tethered. After I unplug the USB cable from the port I squeeze the JerkStopper quick disconnect to separate the cable from the tether.

The package didnt contain all of the pieces and the USB side was too large to actually fit into a USB port without the use of a hammer.

I bought the JerkStopper with my Tether Tools cable mostly because I am clumsy. Its already saved my camera twice. The USB port side popped right out and that little bit of slack that was in the loop kept me from toppling both my computer and my camera! A must have if you shoot tethered with any camera.

This is one of the best little tools in my camera bag. The fact that the clamp itself is adjustable is quite nice. I also like the quick disconnect feature.

Im not sure I needed it since I bought the Micro-B Right angle tether cord.

I purchased this JerkStopper so that while charged my Sony A7RII, the USB cord wouldnt inadvertently be pulled out of the camera while I was shooting. I also have one connected to a longer USB cable I use when I shoot tethered to a computer. The JerkStopper works great for both purposes. Its design accommodates different gauges of cables. I believe this will also help to better protect the USB port on my camera as it appears that if/when the USB port on my camera becomes loose due to the plugging/unplugging, I anticipate the JerkStopper will prevent unwanted USB disconnections. I highly recommend this product.
