Of all the television shows I have ever watched, none was as well written and cast as West Wing. The series dealt with issues which actually happened in the past year, making the shows surreal to watch, knowing they were filmed several years ago. The dialog was quick and funny and touching and intelligent. The actors brought their characters to life with depth and grace. Series like this are few and much too far between. Other than The Good Wife there is no other current series that comes anywhere close to matching this one. Watching the last show of the seventh season was painful since there was no more to come. I can only hope that Mr. Sorkin will use his vast talent to entertain us again!!

Love it! I really enjoy watching these old show. Learning a lot of things that I never knew. I would recommend people to watch.

The fourth season definitely has some highlights - Josh and Toby are at their most Josh and Toby during the shut down, BUT it lacks the sparkle of the other seasons and some of the plots feel forced, or solutions are found too easily.

This was a great series. Have really enjoyed waching it one seasons at a time. Of course I believe todays government is more like House of Cards.

Premiering in September 1999, the original NBC series West Wing built an instant cult following with its seemingly realistic weekly excursions into the inner sanctums of the White House. The series became such a hit that some pollsters claimed that certain people actually believed Jed Bartlet was the real president (although, if true, this is more of a negative reflection on the intelligence of the electorate, and not necessarily an indication of West Wings realism). But regardless, the truth of the matter is that West Wing definitely strikes a chord with certain audiences, providing entertaining brew of action, suspense, and drama on a weekly basis...
