> 3 daySeason 4 Episode 22 of The West Wing contains the tensest ten minutes of the entire series, and some of the tensest ten minutes of television history. The last ten minutes of the episode use a somewhat slow-paced dance song, strobe lights and camera effects to build tension across disparate subplots and leave you terrified for the future. It could have worked as the season finale all on its own, though -- luckily for viewers during the initial airing -- it was instead the penultimate episode of the season, so they had one more episode to get some partial resolution with a better hope for the next season rather than a world-ending, spiraling-into-despair Leo running to the Residence and an uncharacteristic fade to white. What makes the last ten minutes so absolutely incredible is that foreshadowing was there throughout the episode (Im writing this review my second time watching the whole series), but theres plenty of good humor and some melancholy up until the last ten minutes that imply it will be a sentimental episode rather than end in a thriller. Brilliant twists, and 100% perfect execution. The only reason Im able to stop and review this episode instead of immediately watching the next one is that I already know how it ends -- I cant imagine the suspense of having to wait seven days to watch the season finale like viewers did during the initial run, let alone a full summer, as they could have done had they made this episode a cliffhanger finale.

> 3 dayWe joined Amazon Prime mostly to watch the West Wing from the beginning to the end. Season 4 was probably some of the best writing and dealt with political incidents around 9/11 time frame where the world realized terrorist were the worlds next enemy. Many of the plots in this season mirror curren events in our White House and world stages.

Greater than one weeki just wrote a review for the 3rd season, and the 4th is probably better, especially if you watch the commentaries at the end.

> 3 dayThis show is very well written with thoughtful, snappy dialogue and wonderful character development. I dont know how close it is to working in the White House, but it feels very real.
