> 24 hourIn bare outline this fine picture may seem reasonably true to the career of the boy general George Armstrong Custer. But on the whole one cannot take the plot seriously. If, however, one looks upon it as a great spectacle, a wonderful show, the rewards are plentiful. Many of Custers personal traits were well within the grasp of Errol Flynn, and the late actor turns in one of his finest performances. Olivia De Havilland is very good as Custers faithful wife, and their final scene, in whitch Custer says goodbye to his wife, is very touching and well acted. The action scenes are very good, but not up to similar ones in The Charge Of The Light Brigade, an earlier Flynn epic with a story line very much like the one we get in Boots. I would have awarded this picture with 5 stars if it wasnt for the fact that its a little bit too long. Some of the comedy segments may have worked well in the past, but to a modern audience they may seem a little ridicilous. This is especially notable in the first half of the picture. That first half is merely good, the second half is masterfully achieved. In fact, its almost as watching two different movies. In the final analysis, Boots is still a beautyful picture to watch and hear, but honestly speaking, a little uneven.

> 24 hourDid not expect it to be a Korean version with the holder printed in Korean and Korean subtitles in the movie. This was definately not mentioned in the advert for the film.

> 24 hourI love the movie, and the copy of the movie is fine, but as advertised on amazon, it s suppose to be in color!!!, which isnt what i received. i got the black and white version, very disappointed, had i known i was going to get this version i could have saved myself the money and rented it out at the library. The way i see it Amazon provided false advertisment, careful should you order this version and your expecting the colorized version.

> 24 hourThis was the movie I grew up on as a kid...my favorite.......is it historically accurate. No. But you know, precious little is of Custer. Remember he peaked at age 25 in his military career and never really grew as a person. I suspect the depth played by Flynn far exceeds that of the real Custer. This movie also was released about the same time Pearl Harbor actually occurred. It is good, healthy, fun and entertainment, does not put Native Americans in a bad light......enjoy it. It is American History as we want it to be, and thats not always bad.

> 24 hourThey Died With Their Boots On is a glorified Hollywood style account of the life of General George A. Custer. Errol Flynn with his golden dyed locks makes a dashing Custer as he rises from a naive West Point dandy to Civil War hero. Olivia de Havilland plays his wholesome yet fetching love interest and eventual wife. They are both natives of the same town in Michigan with Custer living on the poor side of the tracks.
