The first time I watched this film was the 5th of January of 1978. I remember the date because was the same day my youngest sister was baptized. I was exciting because Errol Flynn was my favourite actor. I loved Robin Hood, the Sea Hawk . So I was ready to enjoy another movie. But I ended the afternoon crying because I could not believe he died at the end. Of course being seven years old I had no idea who George Custer was. The only thing important for me was that he died.

    Greater than one week

One of the best out there for George Armstrong Custer fans

Está genial la película, pero existiendo una versión coloreada deberían haberla tenido como primera opción porque valió la pena cuando la vi por televisión.

My husband, sons and myself enjoyed this movie, although Im a bit embarrassed to say that I found myself saying Wow--I didnt know it happened that way! (it didnt). My only complaint is that, whereas I usually enjoy colorized movies, I found the colorization of this movie to be a bit distracting. Colors often bled into areas where they didnt belong. In one main character the face was skin colored, but the facial scruffiness was in black and white (although not completely consistently). I understand why this version of the movie has not been made into a DVD. The colorization quality is too poor.

Maybe not factually correct, but nevertheless an excellent film

I saw this film for the first time many years ago - and certainly more than I now wish to count. But for me its still a gripping production that I have once again greatly enjoyed.

Probably his last great film (after this Flynns legal problems mounted and Warner Brothers tended to put him in westerns and lower-budget action movies). His last pairing with Olivia Dehavilland as well. The DVD copy is well-restored and it has some nice extras. Too bad no one has restored his other film Santa Fe Trail, with Dehavilland and Ronald Reagan -- the public domain copies out there are appallingly poor.
