Great wi-fi system. I have a strong fast signal throughout the house and outside as well. The only thing that would not hookup with it was my Epson XP-7100 printer. I had to hard wire it to one of the satellite units.

Hanson Chan was great! He helped me with trouble shooting until he found a solution.

I have a Motorola MG7700, the instructions say to set the motorola to bridge mode. I tried for 2 days and gave up. I set the Motorola back as a router to e-router dual mode so that I can use it as before without the X20 connected. I tried connecting the X20 for one last time and I got a different message this time, it told me that I couldnt create a new network with the same name as an existing network, because I wanted to keep the same network name on the X20. So I changed the name of the network on the Motorola and everything connected. The signal is very strong for a two story house and now I have 3 networks. Very important, do a factory reset on the modem/router first but dont set it to bridge mode, just change the name of the 2.4. Set your modem/router to dual mode.

I love that this is backwards compatible, I got this when I upgraded my internet speed. I was then able to take my old s4s and move them to the far corners of the house allowing me to have internet even outside the house. The speed of these are great for the price. I probably in hindsight would have paid the extra for the 6E as the backhaul features would benefit the speed in the house even though I have no 6E devices. If your house is new enough to have ethernet wiring connect it and the wifi near that device will have amazing speed even far away from main deco. The best feature of this is probably ease of use its possibly the easiest mesh system to set up this limits some customization but I just want my wifi to work everywhere effortlessly and this does.

I recently upgraded to 2 gb fiber internet with AT&T and was not sure these would really allow me to get that speed with the mesh network. All doubts have now been alleviated. You can hardwire directly to any of the units or just enjoy the great wifi mesh network that it creates. My house is about 3500 sq ft and this 3 pack covers the house easily. I have been using these now since 2021 and have not had one complaint. I got these because it said it would handle faster speeds and the claims are true. A really great value for the money.

I bought this so my 4400 sq ft house would get better coverage, alleviate dead zones, and overall increased bandwidth - and it did all that and more! I no longer need to periodically reboot my router or find the optimal spot for wifi extenders. My house has 3 levels. I connected the first deco device to my cable modem on the 1st floor, then added the 2nd floor device and the basement device. (If your house has only 2 levels or is not so spread out, 2 decos might be adequate.) Very easy to configure using their smartphone app. I found I was getting the full bandwidth advertised at the deco connected to the cable modem (not 75% as previously). The other decos (which are connected via wifi) did see reduced speed but acceptable (using ethernet backhaul would increase their speeds too I assume). Heres a tip if you are replacing an existing wifi: use exactly the same wifi name (SSID) and password as before and all your devices will automatically connect. Each deco has 2 ethernet jacks which makes it easy to connect printers or servers that need to stay always on. Each deco seems to broadcast 1 signal for your Wifi-ac network and another for the Wifi-n network. For 3 devices, you are broadcasting 6 signals (not counting guest wifi). I also spent time configuring the guest wifi - not only for guests but also for my IOT devices. My Echo dots, Ring alarm and water sensors dont need to connect to other PCs on the home network. I set them to use Wifi-n speeds only. Ive used this for 6 months now and I cant recall having to reboot once. Great product! Phones can move around the house and not see any drop in speeds. I would recommend for anyone in a house where 1 router doesnt provide adequate coverage.

I have tried several extenders. Most dont do that much. I bought the 3 pack and I found in our condo I only needed two of these as the unit(s) are so powerful. So for your average condo/aparment, 2 might be plenty. They have a lot of punch. I use mine with a tmobile internet solution and like I said it works great with this. When you set it up check the dynamic IP box when it asks what kind of internet you are getting (if using tmobile)

The instructions for setup are not the best; a lot is left unsaid. I needed to set these up downstream of my existing router, and at first that was a nightmare, but after research I thought I had discovered the problem, and a chat with tech support confirmed that. If installed and connected to an existing router, the first unit must be set to AP mode instead of the default, which is Router mode. Once that was done, the rest was relatively straightforward. My LAN is a complex web of switches and clients, but the DECO system works fine with that. I have six units covering two houses using wired backhaul (each is simply plugged into my LAN that was already available at each location and then plugged into power). In theory the 2nd and third unit will automatically set themselves up, but you have to wait about 5 minutes to see if that works. Sometimes connecting to a units own network using the app can be problematical at first, but it eventually works (perhaps the 5 minutes comes into play here). After setting 6 units up I have seamless mesh over two houses connected to my LAN and my up and download speeds over wifi are the best I have EVER seen! Over 400mbps down and 300 mbps up. Network optimization works well and is partly automatic, but can be done from the app whenever desired, and it helps speed things up and elminate problems. I found that the signal strength at my Ring cameras improved greatly with the DECOs compared to my previous WAPs, too, which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. From being ready to send them back in frustration the first day before I solved the problem, I have moved to become a very entusiastic supporter! Tech support was great (though a bit of a pain to get to a human on chat).

One of the best benefits is being able to keep kids devices off of specific websites - regardless of the type of device (iPhone, Android, etc). Parental control apps aren’t very good at that and the ones I’ve seen are sketchy at best on iPhone. With this router I can put the name of sites, type of content, time of day, etc directly from my phone. Also pleased with the router functionally and speed.

Each Deco X20 has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports(6 in total for a 3-pack) and supports Wired Ethernet Backhaul for better speeds. Any of them can work as a Wi-Fi Router
