So I got this because I have a brick wall between my office and the rest of the home. It works great for WIFI around the house but a few issues. Normal use it works great, working from home there is issues. First issue is you cannot split the WIFI and have different networks for IoT devices like smart plugs and printers. Second issue is I work from home, I use Cisco Anyconnect VPN for my work connection and I have had nothing but issues. I would get massive packet loss and vpn disconnects when working, I thought it was my laptop hardware but I switched for my old router which is a TP Link AC4000 and I had no more issues with the VPN dropping. I am not sure if this mesh system was switching me between nodes or the WIFI bands but I couldnt work for more than 5 minutes without a disconnect on VPN. I am returning this for a single more powerful router. If I was not on vpn I would keep this since it has great coverage in my home but I need a stable connection. Returning after 3 weeks of use and frustration.

Im very happy with this purchase, the router was easy to install, and I like very much the app where I can control/block each device in my home. Previously I had 3 routers hardwired to cover my home (3500sqft) and I replaced all of them with this kit. In fact, I believe it would have been enough with 2 Decos, but the kit had 3., so I just installed all of them and now Im covered from front yard to back yard without the need of changing wifi signals. The only thing I didnt noticed it was a refurbished kit, so it was kind of awkward to receive a package without the original box. Once I checked the complete description of the product I purchased I was relieved, and by the way product had no issues or even scratches, works perfectly well and I was able to save some money.

I I love the look of these and the Es and setting them up. I have a long house with lots of walls and these were the perfect answer to get my signal into all the rooms. I have no complaints and no loss of signal

We have Xfinity with XFi pods in our 2400 Sq ft 2 story home. We are also in an area where we dont get great Cell signal so we use WiFi Calling which has been spotty despite our 1gbps service. The XFi pods (we had 7 running) didnt help much if at all. We had dead spots that would render our cameras useless and in our sons room he would only get 10mbps download speeds at best and has had signal drop during school... I saw this TP-link mesh AX1800 for $229.99 and saw the great reviews so I bought it and since its through prime could return it if it wasnt up to snuff. Let me tell you! 10 minute setup is no lie! Literally 10 minutes the network was up and running. You simply download the app to your phone, run it and it will guide you step by step. Only like 5 steps too! Speeds are super fast. We have 1gps service but never could get it before. My best DL speed was 550ish.now (see 1st Pic) it hit 700s and in my sons room that used to get 10mbps on a good day is in the 200s! Also, our cameras now ALL have full strength signals to the module and the WiFi! Couldnt be happier. We have issues in my office with signal also due to thick walls and Im gonna recommend we use this. I think this is the best setup around. I spent more on the 7 XFi pods and they sucked! Update:this system is so good we bought another one for use in my office at work which has been a black hole for wifi. I set it up today with no issues and now my colleagues and I enjoy fast internet anywhere in the office. My colleague bought one for his home as well and is enjoying the fulness of his hi speed internet now. ***SETUP TIP: change your SSID in your router BEFORE setting this up so you can assign the Deco network the old SSID and Password so you wont have to change every device up with the new SSID. The system doesnt let you use the old SSID because its already assigned. Then you go to your router settings and turn off broadcasting the newly named SSID so it wont show up on your list of networks. I did this in advance so I didnt go through the hassle. Also, I did have to re-enter the SSID and PW in my printers even though it is the same as our old SSID before but it worked like a charm after resetting it up.

Our Installation: We subscribe to a 800 Mbps Comcast plan which actually tests at 900 Mbps. Our 1975 tinker toy construction (drywall/plywood) L-Shaped, single-story ranch 2300 sqft home has a crawl space under the footprint with an attached 3 car garage and backyard patio/swimming pool area. The 5800 sqft wi-fi coverage (overall average wi-fi data rates = 500 Mbps includes smartphones) is more than adequate for our needs (no gaming, 2 TVs (family room and garage) with 5 Alexa Plus/Echo Dots, roaming smartphones/GEN 6 laptop, desktop, multiple switches/plugs, Xfinity/Comcast owned Home Security router and irrigation controllers). We tested the Deco X-68 (2-pack) with dedicated 5GHz tri-band, finding the Home Security upgrade solicitations to be annoying vs the lifetime included Home Security bundled with the X-20 (very good). Since we have a crawl space, wiring backhaul CAT 7 cable (chosen if ISP plan ever exceeds 1 GIG) through a TP-Link unmanaged 5-Port switch made longer term usage/performance sense. Note: also connected TP-Link USB/Ethernet adapter to switch for HP Pavilion Desktop (ethernet adapter only 100 Mbps)...increased wi-fi data rate from 250 Mbps to wired 500 Mbps. Aside: The Mrs wasnt thrilled to call the local Fire Department because I was stuck trying to get out of the crawl space! 900-600-300-(50%) 900 = ISP subscription signal data rate directly from Arris SB8200 cable modem to desktop and laptop. ALERT: The cable modem has 2 1-Gigabit ports, but ONLY 1 is operational unless you upgrade your Comcast subscription plan (not knowing cost me a lot of time plus the Comcast technician during his visit didnt even comment on this condition...we dont troubleshoot 3rd party equipment Oh you dont? = I collected $250 in refunds FROM Comcast during this installation process) Suggestion: We put a book cover around cable modem on bookcase to hide it, but its still accessible if we need to manually reboot (see photo). 600 = Signal loss (300 Mbps) connecting cable modem to Main Deco and backhaul ethernet cable wiring 2 nodes/satellites. Both our desktop and Lenovo Gen 6 laptop speed test at 600 Mbps by each Deco X-20 location. Note: Gen 6 laptop wi-fi data rate is also 600 Mbps at each location which implies the Gen 6 new standards firmware is performing well. Also smartphone Pixel 3A XL wi-fi roaming throughout house speed tests at 500 Mbps. 300 = Signal loss (300 Mbps) speed testing wi-fi on the Gen 6 laptop in remote areas: Garage & Patio areas performing at 300 Mbps 50% Loss Non-Wired Backhaul = Using the Deco X-20 routers to transmit ISP signal through its 4 antenna/radios vs backhaul wiring, decreases signal by 50% at all locations...ie signal in Garage by Android TV drops from 300 Mbps to 150Mbps (basically triggered decision to run ethernet cables or reinvestigate tri-band solutions) Deco APP = Extremely well designed, absolute piece O cake to use. Provides me all I need to manage the entire network (connected devices/mac addresses/connected frequency rate (2.4 vs 5)/locations/wired not wired) by online/offline plus separate listing by locations) Easily reboot All Decos, optimize network, turn on/off Guest Network (works well with Alexa skill) to include 2.4GHz and/or 5GHz signals+++ = Just terrific! TP Link Support = 24/7 phone support with very caring and generally very competent technical troubleshooting. I made a very costly set-up error by testing QoS (Quality of Service) by entering 100 Mbps download (I recommended to TP-Link about adding WARNING for this input) because it basically puts a governor on your real available data rates. Xfinity and I got tired proving I was getting the subscription rate we are paying for! Bottom Line = For our installation and needs, we couldnt be more ecstatic with the upgraded High-Efficiency/High-Value mesh routers for $220. Note: Switch, USB/Ethernet adapter, CAT 7 cables = $75 What triggered this entire project was our purchase of a Gen 6 enabled Lenovo laptop. Of note, BOTH your router and connected device need 802.11ax or Gen 6 chip sets to tap OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)/RU (Resource Units) efficiency and WPA3 security (160 MHz channels (not supported in X-20) and MU-MIMO (Multi-user, Multiple Input, Multiple Output = currently vaporware) adds nothing to our WLAN performance needs). I believe, although cannot unequivocally test, the Gen 6 enhanced data rates are performing extremely well. All other legacy devices are solid with the new available signal strength and strong data rates near the 3 APs (Access Points). Our Orbit hose/timer up the back hill tucked under the redwood trees receives 75 Mbps! 6E chip set devices will be rapidly appearing in the marketplace over the next few years. You need BOTH the router and device to include 6E chipsets to utilize the new 1200 MHz, 6Ghz pristine spectrum. As we Long Term Evolve (LTE), our new Deco X-20 (3-pack) will easily last 3 years or longer as our devices are steadily upgraded to 6E. We highly recommend!

I suck at setting up tech/wifi. Im not tech savvy, and even I could do this. Was really happy about how quick the set up was and how fast it took for my wifi speed to change.

First off, the instructions are quite simple. Download the app. Turn off modem, connect to one unit and power both on. Thats it. Seriously! Then just follow the app guide. A 10th grader could do this. I went from Older tech / routers and ubiquitous access points with Cat5 through the house. Never getting more than 60MB of download. Then my WAPs stopped. Chaos. 3 hours of trying to redo my system with a new switch and router. This system setup took 15 minutes. Half of which was me trying to figure out what to name my Wifi. Ok... everything is setup. I am on my phone and test the down speed. Lower 200s MBpS. Direct connect was 100MBpS faster, but 200? More than enough. So happy with this system. I have a 3200 Sqft house with the 3 mesh points and its overkill. I could have done just 2 but why. 100% happy!

The TP link products have always worked very well for me. This Deco X20 was a compromise between the newer, faster and higher feature systems and by budget. Pro: 1: Affordable in my price range. 2: Deco X20 has 3 stations to allow for good overlapping coverage. 3: The Deco X20 nice options and good Wi-Fi and hardware speeds. 4: Support responds to email. I was not expecting any response to my setup issue as I had it solved via a different device. Con: 1: Setup and most options are app driven, with very limited web page setup options. I had issues using the app on my Samsung A32 phone. I was able to finish the setup using the Amazon fire tablet. 2: Wanting a few options like VPN, integration, and other granular router like features that don’t require an annual service fee. Over all I am extremely happy with the Deco X20!

So I got this to replace a regular old type N router because we have so many devices that I thought this would give me a stronger and faster connection, especially in rooms not super close to the main router. That did not happen. From the get go I have seen ZERO improvement, and of anything, its slower. Also from the get go, I CONSTANTLY get error message pop ups on my devices that says Deco has no Internet access, all day and all night long. Its very annoying and a little worrisome. I also feel like I have less security control using this style router than my old, singular unit. Its impossible to understand whats what with many of the devices when you look at whats currently using your router. Some you know what they are, but many use names that you have no idea if their even yours or not. Of course my network is supposedly secure, but Im just saying, I felt way more confident with my old one than with this constant signal dropping, zero improvement set up. It was a waste of money, and if I could do it again, I would have returned it. The only reason I didnt was that a member of my household unexpectedly became very ill and was hospitalized right when I got this, so that was my main priority, and I just ended up keeping it, thinking it would be a silly, easy fix at a later time, because I couldnt be hassled at that time, but that wasnt the case. I definitely regret it.
