One of the best benefits is being able to keep kids devices off of specific websites - regardless of the type of device (iPhone, Android, etc). Parental control apps aren’t very good at that and the ones I’ve seen are sketchy at best on iPhone. With this router I can put the name of sites, type of content, time of day, etc directly from my phone. Also pleased with the router functionally and speed.

I am writing this review before I even open the box because of a detail I read before doing so. I bought this Wi-Fi Powerline Deco PX50 in an attempt to finally remove the Wi-fi dead zones. It is nicely advertised as using your homes electrical wires to boost the signal eliminating dead zones as it Works Through Walls and Floors. I thought this is the perfect solution. I already have Deco M9 Plus and this will give me the boost I need, and walls will no longer be an issue. In addition, it states that it Covers up to 6,500 sq. ft. Ideal for 4-6+ bedroom houses. But then I received it and I read Note: Powerline network should be set up on the same electrical circuit. Well, that is a problem. I mean I have a big 2 story house. I have an electrical panel with so many circuit breakers, and I have no idea which one controls what. Furthermore, if the powerline feature that originally allured me to buy this in the first place, will only work if connected to the same circuit, how far apart can they be, oh and will most likely be on the same floor. Then I thought, I guess I need to buy more to make it work. Then I came to my senses. That would not work since they all still need to be on the same circuit for the powerline feature to work!!!!!!!!!!! So, right now I paid for these and if I choose to keep it, they will be just as useful and powerful as my old M9 plus model. I have 5 of those around my home and I have dead Wi-Fi zones. I am not saying TP-Link does not work. I am sure having them all on the same circuit will make the Wi-fi awesome. But I think it is unrealistic to set them up that way. Just wanted to let others know before they make a purchase.

This product worked well right out of the box and was a cinch to connect. Unfortunately, I could not get it to connect to a few essential devices in my home. The first device, set of devices, were my Nest Cameras. Yes, they are about 4 years old, but they worked well with my previous TP Link Archer A10. The other device that would not connect with the new mesh system was my Chamberlain garage door opener utilized through the MyQ app. I use both of these devices for various reasons and notifications daily and I just couldnt get either of them to connect no matter what I did and I knew what the problem was. The Deco app controls are so simplistic that I wasnt able to adjust settings that matched the A10s settings, which are accessed via a TP Link IP address. The system did cover some previous dead areas, but did so at about 40% of the speed I receive from the A10 on the 5GHz channel. Im not sure how an extender wouldnt accomplish the same result, considering the degree of signal loss. I thought the mesh system would be an upgrade, but unfortunately the upgrade came with a few shortcomings that I couldnt sacrifice. So, I just moved some stuff around to position the A10 in a more centralized location to hopefully address those dead spots that werent really that big of a problem to begin with. If youre looking for a mesh system that is super simple to set up with extremely limited ability to make basic adjustments, then this will work for you. I dont consider myself a techy guy but this system does not allow the ability to make some simple adjustments to match a previous router from the same manufacturer. Namely, Nest outdoor security cameras the the MyQ app used for a number of garage door openers.

This was easy to set up, even for someone not tech savvy. It walked me through the process. This expanded my wifi signal throughout my house -no more dead spots or slow downloads. I am very satisfied with it.

This speaks well for the whole TP-Link line in my view. Ive been doing small biz and home consulting on Macs and PCs and related device, account, networking issues for 2 decades at least, and this is a good solid product, recently updated so read the whole family for the bigger picture. The app is very well executed: it isnt difficult to install, the automated functions work well, it is fast, persistent, works. Give it some time on first discovery or changes - it is doing some fancy footwork in the background so be patient. Once set, you can manage the products in the net from basically anywhere on earth where theres a signal.

    Greater than one week

This thing books, given yes I have 3 nodes in a rather small apartment but I run everything wireless including Kasa smart plus and smart led color changing bulbs. It serves my multiple devices and computers and I havent even thought of looking anywhere else.

I’ve been searching for a mesh router system for my WiFi, replacing my Netgear Nighthawk AC-1900. After unsuccessfully trying to get two other mesh systems up and running, I had success with this system, right from the start. Now in the first week of usage, the only issue I had was one poor episode utilizing my WiFI calling. The caller did not come through that well, skipping words, despite a strong signal in the affected rooms. This was one of my reasons for updating my router as AT&T and TMobile cell towers provide only marginal coverage in my home. In summary: so far, so good.

Purchased this because AT&T modem, with 1Gb fiber optic speed, kept randomly disconnecting when everyone was home. This worked for me with the following: - 4 bedroom + 1 Office, 3500sqft main house (2 floors) - 1 bedroom studio, 600sqft (2 floors) - 2 bedroom guest house 1100sqft (1 floor) - 7 people living in the property total - 25 devices connected at the same time, in average - 1 person full time work from home - 2 flex workers - 2 gamers / students - 2 musicians / Djs The pack of 3 was enough for regular streaming and work from home/school, but lag was bad for the people gaming, and the guest house was a little too far from the modem, so had to order another pack of 3 but it was totally worth it. Of second set ordered, one was placed by the door to the backyard, and the guest house Deco was placed by the front door closest to the main house. The other two Decos were placed one in each room for gamers. Speeds are as followed: - Studio + 1 Deco (2nd floor) --> WiFi 250mbps, Ps4 with ethernet to Deco 450mbps - Guest house + 1 Deco (closest point to the main house) --> WiFi 150mbps, Pc with ethernet 200mbps - Main house: - main deco connected to AT&T modem. Deco set up as router and modem with IP pass through. Make sure you set up the NAT/Gaming in the modem if you have online gamers in your house. - 1 Deco gaming/student room (2nd floor) --> MacbookPro WiFi 350mbsp, Pc with ethernet 700mbps - 1 Deco living room (1st floor) --> WiFi 150mbps - 1 Deco office (1st floor - concrete walls) --> Pc WiFi 100mbps or with ethernet 200mbs - Deco closest to Office Deco is 3 concrete walls over in the living room Before Deco set up and modem reconfiguration speeds were: - Guest house --> WiFi 40mbps with no ethernet option - Studio --> WiFi 70mbps, Ps4 lag was really bad and uplayable - Main house: - Office --> WiFi 30mbps with no ethernet option - rest of the house had an average of 150-300mbps I hope this break down gives you an idea of how much difference it makes. Everyone is happy and no one is lagging. If you have a lot of people, devices, guest house, studio and main house that all need goo internet speed, this is a reasonable price solution. Again, a pack of 3 would have been fine but gaming would had been laggy sometimes when everyone is home.
