Greater than one weekNeeded a wall mountable gigabit switch to connect my laptop, desktop and xbox to my existing router. This fits the bill perfectly and I have seen no issues getting the full gigabit speeds between the devices!

> 3 dayFive stars for solid construction and speed! I used this switch to have only one long Ethernet wire run from my router to a second home office where I plugged in my tower, blu-ray player and printer with room for more devices to be plugged in to it in the future. I prefer a wired connection when possible and this switch made it a lot easier! It kept my Gigabit router fast because this switch is also Gigabit speed! No negatives and highly recommended!

08-06-2025Solid metal box. Works without a hitch and runs cool. On the 5 port version the power connector is on the side, which is a bit funky.

> 3 dayMy needs were for a small Gigabit swtich with metal housing and low price for the conference room and this product met all of those needs, I plugged it in this morning and it worked so 5 stars. This thing was even smaller than I expected. The box says its V4.0R and I bought directly from Amazon if anyone is looking for this specific version. The difference between this version and the picture is that the power supply plugs in on the side rather than the back. This may be a problem for some configurations but it was fine for mine. I just bought another one for my office, great little switch, plug and play 1 minute setup

> 3 dayThe item would not even register anything connected to it and there was a burning smell - Replacement requested from Amazon, so we will see what the replacement is like!

> 3 dayI have an 8 port Trendnet GREENnet switch at the center of my home network. I bought it about 3 years ago and its performed flawlessly. I never had a single issue. When I needed some extra ports at one outlet - this was an easy decision. This is the best combination of price, performance and reliability for my needs.

> 3 dayI own three of these switches and have never had a problem with any of them. I get great transfer speeds throughout my gigabit network. I never have to reset these switches, they work 100% of the time without any problems. They required no setup, simple plug and play installation. I have been using this model for over a year and still buy them when I need another one.

> 3 dayWell worth the on-sale price I paid. The frame is indeed made of metal and feels very sturdy. The box comes with four rubbery feet that you can adhesively stick to the bottom of the frame to make it slide around less. The frame is quite compact so it will fit almost anywhere that you would want to put it (I have mine under my monitor). The LED lights on the front of the frame illuminate green or amber depending on whether the connection is 1000 Mbps (Gigabit) or 10/100 Mbps which is a really nice feature. Using somewhat outdated Cat5 cables I was able to get 450 Mbps LAN download speed . Im in the process of buying newer Cat6 cables which hopefully will bump the speeds up to be closer to the theoretical 1000 Mbps that Gigabit offers.

> 3 dayDecent hub, definitely not a switch, Wireshark will show you that in less than a second. I am sure it is just marketing referring to this as a switch, but I didnt expect a switch for twenty bucks. I needed Gbit and basic connectivity. The main problem is this hub does not appear to be very Linux friendly. I ended up having to script a solution on one system that kept the NIC on my Linux system active to prevent the Green stuff from kicking in on that port. Not sure why Windows handles it so much better, but for the price, it works and a simple script keeps things running for me. I would probably buy it again, now that I know the short comings. It was just a bit of a pain having to deal with it for a few days to figure out what was going on.

> 3 dayI thought that being a 5 port ment one input and 5 outputs, but it is unmanaged so you just plug the input into one of the ports and it recognizes that and splits it out into the other 4... I only really needed one more at the time so it works for me but just keep in mind it is actually 1 in and 4 out. Other than that it works great, I havent noticed any slower speeds or anything, I do only have 40 Mbps but it seems to be going at that speed
