> 3 dayI had a tie dye party and invited a bunch of friends, all in our mid to late twenties. So much fun! I will say that the for five thing is inaccurate - all together, we dyed four t-shirts, a tank top, an apron (mine - pic attached), a canvas bag, and TWELVE bandanas, and still had plenty of dye left.

> 3 dayWorked pretty well for a project we wanted to do with our labcoats. Started to fade with a few washes but that might have just been the chemicals from the lab who knows lol.

> 3 dayI did not return the item after finding it damaged because I was on a very tight time constraint to get the shirts done. However I was disappointed how the product came. The box was very dented up upon opening the amazon shipping box. The orange dye top had come off and the dye powder had leaked all over the other bottles. I was unable to use a whole set of the rubber bands because they were getting orange dye on everything. The shirts were soaking in a solution in the sink and the powder from the open orange container came off of my hands and fell onto the shirts. No matter what I did, the powder dye was everywhere. I had to dye the shirts darker than planned to cover up all the orange mess. They ended up turning out great, but it was such a hassle because of the bottle being opened. Open the product away from your shirts, just in case!

> 3 dayBest to get larger bottles for large projects. Color variety is great, but these bottles are small. This is good for kids shirt. I was dying three adult 3XL tshirts and a full size flat sheet. I ran out of colors fast.

> 3 dayI bought the dye so my students can create tye-dye socks and t-shirts for World Downs Syndrome Day. The kids had a lot of fun twisting and tying and putting color on the material. We let it all sit for 24 hours and then washed the products. (Cotton t-shirts and socks) When they came out of the wash ALL of the socks were white and blue only. All of the red, yellow, and green colors were washed out. I re-read the directions (I am a teacher) and made sure that the instructs that came with the product were followed to the letter. We prewashed the fabric and dried it and added water to the dye bottle, filling to line. (note how it does not say a particular temperature) Then it says to apply dye to the fabric (doesnt say anything about using rubber bands to create the tye-dye effect). We then wrapped and covered the fabric overnight and rinsed it well with water as instructed. Here it says to cut rubber bands (note, nowhere before does it say to wrap the fabric using the bands). Not even in the tips does it suggest anything. So before you lose money on this product as I did - according to their website it says: 1) Use WARM water to mix the dye. Hot water will break it down, and cold water will cause it to undissolved. 2) Use rubberbands on fabric to help create a nice pattern. 3) SOAK MATERIAL IN VINEGAR to saturate BEFORE you apply the dye. 4) Use dye to create patterns 5) Let sit overnight or up to 24 hours. 6) Rinse in COLD water thoroughly to remove the excess dye. 7) Washing in WARM water is the final step. Hope yours works out well using these revised steps from the internet. I am truly disappointed in the Tulip brand that I came to know and love for years.

> 3 dayHad a blast using this tie dye kit with boys ranging in ages from 4-8!! We were able to make 4 youth tee shirts, 4 bandanas, and 2 adult tank tops with dye leftover. A few recommendations: 1. Wear Rubber gloves 2. Buy bulk white bandanas to use up extra dye if you don’t want any to go to waste 3. Plan ahead and launder the items you will dye the day before 4. The instructions say to machine wash each item individually after letting the dye set. In the interest of avoiding 10 loads of laundry with only one item in each, I thoroughly (and I mean THOROUGHLY) washed and rung out each item in a utility sink with hot water. I didn’t stop rinsing until the water coming out of the shirts was almost completely clear. Then I washed all of the freshly tie dyed items together in one load and had no problems. I did wash them on their own a few more times before adding with regular laundry 5. Don’t oversaturate! 6. If working with kids, do it outside if possible All of us loved this kit and the kids can’t wait to get another one and tie dye again!!

Greater than one weekI have never tie dyed before, but now that I am required to wear a mask all day at work, I decided I needed to have a LOT of masks, and a LOT of fun! I had to wait on this kit, as they were out of stock when I ordered it, but it came before they initially predicted, so no complaints there. OH. MY. GOSH. The COLOR! Just LOOK at these finished masks! I used 100% cotton, pre-washed as suggested, and followed all the directions. This is after 2 trips through the washer on hot. I am absolutely THRILLED with the results. Would absolutely recommend this tie dye kit, and will purchase again if I decide to do more tie dying. The only suggestion I would make to the manufacturer is to include 2 bottles of yellow, as that is the one color I nearly ran out of. I had plenty of all the other colors, and froze 2 ice-cube trays worth to try a different method later. If that works out, I will add pics at a later date. Also, I bought a bag of smaller rubber bands, as the ones included with the kit were for larger projects. In the meantime, I will be having fun at work with all the variety!

Greater than one weekThe sky blue, pink and coral all washed out. Stick with darker colors for better results?
