Comes with A LOT of dye. I didn’t know this, but you have a limited time to use the dye before I’m guessing loses its potency? Idk didn’t try to find out. Just going off instructions. We enjoyed this kit though! You end up running out of things to dye faster than the dye itself. It’s also messy.... really messing. Don’t skip on the prep work. Please set up your work station accordingly cause the last thing you want is to go to your next business meeting with green fingers.

The package came with a few of the lids slightly off, but that was enough to get the red powder dye all over everything. Im assuming this is where the extra red spotting is coming from on this orange garment (even though I cleaned like crazy), unless I didnt mix the water and powder well enough? Not mixing correctly is easy to do, because the directions dont say how long to mix, and what temp water should be used. It does tell you, you need to use the mixed dye withing 24 hours in order to keep the coloring bold, so Ill be spending my day trying to find items to tie dye... It does come with everything you need (gloves, dye, bottles, white rubber bands), however; the process to complete the garmet (letting the dye set) is extremely long, where its recommended to wash separately for the first few washes. If youre selling your items, your care instructions need to be exact, and pray theyre followed.

I purchased this tie dye kit to use in my classroom with 17 first graders for an end of year activity. Each child, as well as 5 additional children and 2 adults, tie dyed a 100% cotton standard pillowcase. It seems like a lot, right? Think again. We didnt even use 1/4 of any of the bottles-- even being *extra* generous with the last few. So, keep in mind that you can be VERY generous with the amount you apply and complete a LOT of projects. Before dying I washed all of the pillowcases to strip them of any junk from manufacturing, then soaked them thoroughly in water. We tied them up still wet using rubber bands, then went to town dying them. Afterwards, each one went into a separate ziplock and sat for about 48 hours before i took them home, rinsed them thoroughly in the bathtub, and then washed + dried them. We signed them in sharpie, I heat-set them once more in the dryer, and voila. Each child had their end of year gift. The colors after washing and drying are still very vivid and beautiful. The item I made with my kiddos is definitely a keepsake and will be put away so that it doesnt fade out or lose its sharpie signatures. I absolutely would expect this to fade out through repeated washings just like any other home tie dye job. This is not as permanent as one would think. The packaging is a bit misleading to me. The products pictured on the packaging are not realistically achievable with this kit. What is shown is basically what your project will look like after being rinsed out, but before being washed +dried. Ive attached pictures of my before and after to show.

These are so much bigger than I thought. 16 oz. Bottles made five onesies for my 18 month old, a dress, two queen size sheets, and a large sweater. And there is still a ton left over. If you use 100% cotton (and we did them in the evening and left it overnight) the colors turn out very bright and vibrant.

We bought this to use for our Girl Scout troop to tie dye tshirts. Cotton tshirts - 9 little girls with size S > XL white tshirts. And 6 mamas with size M - XXL white tshirts. And we had tons of extra dye after so I took it home and did another 7 shirts and still had some left over of the colors. The colors are bright and not fading even after the wearing and washing since we made them a few months ago. Hint > follow the instructions regarding which material shirts to get and pre-soak/ washing.

Was very easy to use. Came with gloves (not the best kind but it worked) and rubber bands. Kids had so much fun. Think they came out pretty good for our first try. So far they have just been rinsed a few times and colors are pretty bright. We had tons left over! Wish we had more stuff to dye. Product said to use within 72 hours of mixing.

Had enough for a class of 19 students and 3 adults. I still could have done at least 7 to 10 more shirts. Colors very vivid all depends on how you rinse. Noticed my shirts were brighter (let them sit overnight and rinsed with rubberbands then washed) and than my teammate (sat for 8 to 10 hours and rinsed without rubber bands and washed and dried).
