Easy to use, fun product. I dont mind the muted colors we ended up with, but if youre counting on vibrant colors this might not be the product for you. Otherwise, fun and easy! (Thats what she said). ;)

It said I was buying tie dye and that’s indeed what showed up. Did the trick when we were bored. I now own a ton of tie dye stuff. Buy it.

I made 25 shirts, (adult sized M-XL) ,8 pairs of adult socks, 5 kid sized shirts. I still had enough left over for a few more pieces. Process was very easy. Let product sit overnight and rinsed/washed the next day. Colors are still a bit muted but the kids loved them! Not sure how long they will hold up over time but for a one time use event these are great. Note**** you need to buy more rubber bands. The kit came with enough for 12 shirts. I had to run out mid project to buy some.

While it IS ready to use with the redi-mix squeeze bottles, there are two big problems with Tulips tie-dye products. One has to do with the experience of dying and the other has to do with the outcome of the projects (in our case, t-shirts). First, the color powder doesnt mix thoroughly enough, no matter how hard you shake it, and so it leaves freckles of dye as you squeeze the color onto your project. Second, the bottles seemed to be covered in trace amounts of the dye powder, so even if you were incredibly careful, by the time you mixed them, your hands were covered in multiple colors of dye and got all over your project (but definitely not in a good way). I was trying really hard to make these look as professional as possible: being slow and careful, wearing gloves, capping the bottles, etc. But I was fighting a losing battle. I really love the idea of all the Tulip kits and colors (we also got the mermaid color set and the celestial color set), but the Jacquard kits with the procion MX dyes are just a superior product.

We like to set up a tie dye station for birthday parties, and this was the first time I bought the XL set-usually I prefer the smaller set with more colors. After using both, if you have a larger group of people/items, go with this one! We dyed multiple items and still had bottles that were half full. We found ourselves searching closets for additional things to dye. I would recommend buying extra rubber bands and gloves for a larger party, as we did run out pretty quickly. Also, do yourself a favor and pick up a tarp, makes for easy cleanup. We had ziploc and old grocery bags so people could take their items home (they didn’t rinse at the party, we wanted to allow the full process time).

I was pleasantly surprised with this product. It did just what we needed and we were able to make 6 shirts with it. Color really penetrated and held. We used cold water to mix and used the wet method when dying. Let it sit for 24 hours, rinsed and washed and they turned out fantastic. The red has some dots in it but I could have not shaken it enough.

I wanted a kit that was easy to use with minimal mess. This kit got great reviews, so I went with this (plus it was one of very few available at the time). I liked that all you had to do was add water to the bottles and shake. My kids had some trouble squirting it out on the right spots on their shirts, since the dye comes out very quickly as soon as you tip the bottle over. The colors were vibrant and we made a lot of really cool shirts. The only bummer is that despite letting them sit and fully dry, running them through a dryer cycle, and then washing them, the colors still bled and all of our shirts wound up having a purple tint where they were previously white. We had fun using the kit, though. We might try again.

Perfect for our class project! I bought these to have my students make their very own class shirts. Super easy to apply and the colors came out vibrant and amazing!!
