I absolutely loved this tie dye kit! It is so fun and easy to use. I made a couple shirts with my niece who was only 4 years old. It basically comes with everything that you need and can make a lot. We only used 3 bottles and we were able to make 6 shirts! it has great instructions as well.

We had paid full price for one of these kits and they turned out so well we decided to do more tie-dye. In ordering a second one, I found an Open Box/Like New option. This one turned out to be an older version (the bottles looked different and the colors didnt turn out as vibrant as the first kit), plus 3 of the bottles had 1/4 the amount of powdered dye that the others had. I assume someone bought it, used what they needed, and returned it. They werent colors we absolutely needed so I chalked it up to having gotten it at a discount, but beware of the open box items. That said, the Tulip dye kits are easy to use and the shirts we did with the original kit turned out great!

First the positive info: The variety of colors in this pack are awesome. We had some really beautiful shirts come out of our group activity. Everybody was please with the colors. Also, I don’t think tie-dye can get much easier than using squirt bottles to apply the color. Very easy to use for a group of kids ranging from 6th to 12 grade. The only problem was estimating how much I would need for a group. This was my first year as the craft organizer at a youth group camp. I knew tie-dye shirts are a staple activity that the students LOVE to do. Tulip brand one-step dye was used in the past so I just decided to go with it this year too. I did a lot of research before hand to make good use of our funds and still have enough for all the kids. I decided to go with these bundles because they were $15.85 each at the time I purchased. I was a little bit surprised by how small the bottles were, though, and I was nervous upon seeing them that we woudn’t have enough. I read several questions regarding the Tulip dyes and it seemed like one bottle per person on average was recommended. I can tell you that is NOT the case for the bottles in this pack. Between five packs I had 90 bottles. We were only able to do 66 shirts and on those last shirts we were literally going through every bottle to use every last drop of dye we could. We had to turn a few kids away because we didn’t have enough dye. Now I understand the situation was a result more of my planning and not because of the product, however, I did find it hard to figure out how much I needed ahead of time (even with all the research I did). I would say for this pack plan on at least an average of 1.5 bottles per shirt. So if you bought one kit, you might get twelve adult size sm-large shirts done. You might even want to be safe and plan on only 10 shirts out of this pack. I hope that helps anyone in the future.

This set comes with 18 bottles filled with dye powder that guy just add water and mix and is ready to use! It comes with a pair of dye gloves and rubber bands in a plastic case with handle. One bottle was enough for three tshirts, but ran out of popular colors fast. Very easy to use and highly recommend!

The dye stays on the shirts we did well, you really have to soak it and let the shirts sit for a while before rinsing to get the maximum saturation, however it is non toxic dye so great to use with kids and if you do get it on your hands it comes off in a day or so.

I bought this as it was going to be tie dye day on the last day of school. We did not have any so I bought some white shirts and away we went doing this fun activity. We all made our own and it was easy and fun! We had more than enough and I know this is set for a tie dye party but totally suggest it for a party or even a family wanting a little fun!

My 2 & 4 yos and I made T-shirts using these dyes. They were extremely easy to use. You just add water and shake! We did this outside using a step stool covered in a plastic bag with paper towels on top and then had a wire cookie drying rack that we worked on (definitely needed) and I used some kid nitrile gloves that I had for my little ones. Each child picked two colors and that was enough dye for them each to do two xs childrens shirts (ie two dye bottles -> two shirts). I also picked two colors and that was not quite sufficient to do two adult shirts in the dry tie-dying style (I needed just a bit more dye). We let them sit overnight wrapped in cling wrap, rinsed them out with a hose on the lawn, washed in hot water in the washing machine and then dried. I havent had them bleed with that treatment onto other clothes. The colors are VIVID and the red is RED (not pink) and the dark blue is a darkish blue. Well be doing more in the future for other projects! (xmas gifts for grandparents of reusable grocery bags, tote bags, shirts, etc). This was my first attempt and I LOVED 3 of the 6 shirts we made (they looked professional and store-bought), and liked another 2. The last one was ahh but it had some mistakes made (wrong-colored ink getting through since I didnt change the paper towels under the rack between projects). For my kids I cut plastic bags to add holes for arms & head and put that on them to keep them safe in case they went crazy with the dye. It wasnt necessary but was good piece of mind. The 4yo didnt need much supervision but the 2yo needed some help.

Used one box for a birthday party of 12 kids! Each was able to dye their shirts with plenty of it left! Would recommend!

I got this to try for a fun summertime activity to do outside. It has been years since I’ve tie dyed anything, so I would definitely consider myself a beginner. This kit made everything so easy! My five year old and I dyed probably 8 kids shirts, 6 adult shirts, and 5 pairs of kids socks to use every drop of dye. The dye stained our skin as expected, but not for too long. I followed the setting instructions exactly, and after a few washes, everything still looks vibrant and bright! And the kids love the wearable artwork! I plan to make this an annual project.
