Greater than one weekI could not get it to program so I returned it. Amazon was very accomadating in refunding my money. Also I found out later that it would have become useless. Police Departments are going digital and are encrypting their messages and the noise I heard on my friends scanner was very irritating and he had to turn it down. You can listen to the EMS ,but not the P.D.

20-11-2024once we were able to program the system it worked fine. We had to pay someone to program it, sounds easy until you try to do it.

> 3 dayinstruction manual not so good but a little button pushing needs practice. the instructions dont follow through with all necessary scenario steps necessary. mine does run on batteries. three fresh ones lasted a touch over 15 hours. reception is real good with magnetic base antenna up on top my of bird cage and its downstairs ground level + maybe six feet higher than ground level. audio quality is as expected pretty good. uniden should expand on this form factor. its an attractive rig. a more complete frequency spectrum radio would be rather nice to own with the scanner ability as well. i seldom give five stars and didnt think it deserves five but four reflects needed expansions.

> 3 dayReceived the unit quickly from seller. Unit was as advertised. This unit is easy to set up and use. I live in a small rural town (under 10,000) and this unit picks up all activity in my area. If you need your area frequency numbers go to radiofrequency.com and find your state, county and city. There is a list of frequencies there. If you need help setting up your unit there are some short videos by Uniden demonstrating a typical setup which is very easy.

Greater than one weekSimple and easy to program. Good for scanning basic police fire and emergency communications. Priority channels easy to program and change. Not much use for alarm clock features but has a timer you can set to turn off when Not in use. 10 banks can be programmed for Priority use or can be turned off in an instant. Good value for the price.
