> 3 dayI inadvertently left a bad review for this scanner... The message was supposed to be for a hummingbird feeder I had bought... The scanner arrived as stated in the description... The scanner was shipped the day after payment was made and arrived when I was told it would be... Could not be happier with the scanner and the customer service...

> 3 daySmall size but still loaded with some great extra features. For anyone just getting into using a regular scanner or a back-up ... this is your winner! Comes with a small antenna but still receives most signals you will want to hear and add an outdoor antenna later. Complete with AC wall power supply and a small user manual. Scanner case is plastic with touch button controls and an orange glow back lighted display which is easy to see in most lighting. Receiver is very good for Hi-band VHF, Weather, Fire, Police and EMS. Lo-band VHF and UHF were good but not the quality of Hi-band VHF. Radio has Alarm Clock and FM radio with a 3-cell AA battery backup for clock. Channels say in memory even with no AC power and do not need battery backup. Scanner is medium level easy to program for a newbie but one must read the user manual first and no computer is needed for use. Using the scanner can be a small learning curve of two to four hours of hands on use. This is one nice scanner to hear the latest whats happening in my local area now. Anyone wanting a good scanner this is the one to buy! I will follow - up post later.

> 3 dayVery good scanner for the money HOWEVER if you live in an area where the signals are trunked (encrypted signals that cant be picked up by everyday scanners) then you may want to consider paying the extra money & getting a scanner with trunking technology built in. If all you want to do is monitor the weather & listen for fire calls (usually not trunked) then this is the scanner for you.

> 3 dayIf you live within an area still using analog VHF UHF reception of local PD, FD, etc, it works fine. You want better reception plug a rooftop antenna into the BNC jack on the back of the scanner. That being said, there are no PL tones, 800 Mhz trunked, digital, or newer P25 radio system capabilities. Do your research before you purchase, to ensure it is compatible with the agencies you want to monitor in your area. Otherwise, you have wasted your money and will need a scanner in the $300. to $700. range.

Greater than one weekGreat reception and pretty easy to set up. It gets good reception with the stock antenna, but I hooked it up to my j-pole that I have optimized for GMRS/UHF ham. WOW it is getting in 70+ channels on 2meter, airband and of course 440+... Weather radio and FM are both great too. I wish there was a way to just turn a knob to tune FM but no big deal. It seems to be of good quality, nice knobs and buttons, has battery backup, and Im now using it as my alarm clock. The sound isnt bad for a small speaker and its LOUD. Great for the price I could not be happier. For someone who wants to get into scanning this puppy is a great inexpensive way to start.

> 3 dayWasnt too complicated to set it up. Downside is it seems to interfere w the cellular or wifi signal if youre close to the unit

> 3 dayI bought this for the aircraft band. Ive got Jax high altitude, Jax, Craig, St Aug, NAS, Herlong, and Cecil Field all programmed in. Everything is pretty straightforward and simple to use. Didnt even need the owners manual. The marine band scans so fast its crazy...I bought the refurbished unit, a great deal.
