I have had a variety of these plunger/vacuum solder removers over the past 30 years (!). By far, this is the best one I have ever seen. The vacuum chamber is extremely powerful (more on that in a minute), but the soft silicone tip is the key. It allows you to seal the tip around the connection point, right up against the hot soldering iron tip and the component lead and solder pad, and thus thoroughly draw ALL the solder out of the connection. This is the first one Ive ever had that can thoroughly remove all the solder from an IC or other device with lots of pins so that you can actually get it to drop out without destroying it. Now, as to the vacuum power. It has a lot of oomph, but unfortunately, that comes with a price. The spring in the chamber is so strong that there is a whale of a recoil on this thing when you push the button to activate it. You need to have the circuit board well supported from behind or it will go flying away from the tip when you fire it, and then it doesnt work well. You MUST keep the tip firmly in contact with the joint when firing it in order for it to work well. -- The short bit of silicone tube slipped onto the end as the contact tip is easy to replace. The sell accessory packages of the tubing that you can cut yourself to make new tips. You can also use silicone model airplane fuel tubing available in hobby shops that sell model airplane supplies. The tubing tip is extremely durable. It does not melt... at all... even when pressed right up against a hot soldering iron.

Ive been doing circuit design and building for more than 30 years and have had all kinds of socker-suckers; so far this one is my favorite. Its very small but seems to be well made. The short piece of tube attached to the end makes a great seal so that suction is transferred to the pcb where it is needed. It might be a bit small for big hands. An extra piece of high-temperature tubing is included and should provide at least 3 or four replacements.

This thing is awesome. I love it. Worth the money to me. Its a little shorter than most but doesnt nother me at all. Suction is great

This thing feels solid, it has great suction, the silicone tip forms well around the solder joint, and basically its pretty awesome. I had an old radio shack solder sucker that had some stiff white nozzle that made it hard to get a good seal. Lost it somewhere while moving. Got a free one with a solder station I bought. Build quality was absolute garbage, it felt like a 25 cent giveaway at a convention. Had to buy a new one. Couldnt be happier and worth every penny.

I cannot believe the difference in quality this solder sucker is from the other two that I have. Dont think Ill ever buy any other besides this from now on. Its got some serious suction and makes desoldering way way easier.

Great solder sucker. Totally worth the extra cash. It will save you hours of aggravation in the long run.

I use this for my keyboard hobby and by far one of the best suction tools out there. Ive owned plenty of suction tools and this one is probably my favorite so far.

This solder sucker is great! Despite what it says, the tip can handle temperatures above 350 degrees C. Easy to clean, just unscrew from the top to clean it out. Never clogs and is a great time saver.
