> 3 dayBought this safe for home use because I have an underage child. Before using this safe, I used a cord through the magazine well with a lock and key. The day this came in the mail, I attempted to unlock the lock and take the cord off and STRUGGLED, which was odd bc it never happened before. This made the need for the safe all the more apparent because the last thing I need is to fumble around with the lock and cord when needed. I keep my Sig P320 and two mags inside. Didn’t get the one with the fingerprint because sometimes it takes several attempts to use the fingerprint reader on my iPhone and I wasn’t sure if I would have the same issue here. The four-digit code is fine for me. Love that I can use the included cord to secure the safe to something rigid like the frame of my passenger seat if I have to travel. ***update after 1 yr*** Still works just fine. Havent had to charge it regularly. Taking off 1 star because I wish the buttons were illuminated at night. My bedroom is pretty dark and although the safe is literally near my head on the night stand, I wish I could see and not have to feel for the first correct button before everything is illuminated. Back to fives stars. Didn’t realize if you ‘wave’ your hand directly over the safe, the buttons will illuminate.

> 3 dayJust received my Vaultek MXE gun safe. I had literally spent hours doing my research to find the gun safe to meet my needs and this one does not disappoint! I own two handguns I use strictly for target practice, not for home defense so a safe which would safely hold the guns and store a bit of ammo was what I was looking for. The MXE is a perfect size for two pistols. It is very well designed, sturdy, and very functional. The safe automatically opens using the keypad entry or with the supplied keys. The inside lights make it nice to locate what you are looking for quickly! The only down side (if you can call it one) is that the battery lasts about two months before needing a charge. Vaultek does sell a larger battery pack that attaches to a small connector on the outside of the unit. You can also keep the safe continually plugged in with the supplied wall plug and cord. Overall I can not say enough good things about this gun safe. It is a bit pricy As compared to some but in my opinion... worth every penny! PS this safe is NOT weathertight or waterproof. Not a distraction for me as I have heard the sealed safes can have a negative effect on gun finishes and metal parts.

Greater than one weekPerfect small gun safe. Ideal for night stand. Easy to use. Won’t stop a thief due to small size, but I do not worry about young kids accessing my firearm.

> 3 dayThis is a great safe, secures well , sturdy, mounts easily. The only issue is it is needlessly too small. if you have an optic attached to your pistol, chances are good that this great safe will not accommodate it. If vaultek made there safe large enough to accommodate the optic as well, i would buy this safe again in a heartbeat. The slide out drawer needs about 1.5 inches to 2 inches more depth .

> 3 dayI bought the SE20 Slider in February of 2020 and I loved it. But repeatedly its locked up and wont open. I pull the battery and reset it and it works again but that unreliability could be life or death. Every few months I have to reset it. I cant accept it any more. Its now August 2021 and Im throwing it in the trash. I have contacted Vaultek and even mailed the safe back to them and they cant figure out the problem. I will no longer own a Vaultek product.

> 3 dayThe safe is quite good. Id recommend the following improvements. 1. Add 1/4 to each internal dimension for better fit f a gun and 4 magazines. 2. Two latches would be better than one. 3. A 10-digit key pad would be better than limiting a code to a choice of 5 digits only. Id like to use numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and 0 as well.
