I bought this software 2 weeks ago for my Windows 10 machine and so far, things are working great (almost). I had trouble downloading the software. I wasnt able to download through the CD, so then used the website. Because it still wouldnt download, at least I thought I didnt, I was ready to return this. Then I tried again, and it was perfect. I dont even know what I did, but it is now working great. I was not able to playback on Windows 10 because of the file, but it appears if I use the Jpeg file, it would playback, however I was able to playback on my old laptop and the TV DVD. Im still working on that. Its always a trial and error. The software is unbelievable easy. It recorded my old VHS tapes to the DVDs by just hitting record. Simple! I would say the clarity isnt the greatest, but the old VHS tapes arent either, so its probably comparable. I have not yet tackled the more difficult recording where you can edit. Ill work on that! Overall, Im very happy with this and I am not a techy person, just someone who wants to preserve my old VHS tapes to DVD. My son tells me I should put them on a thumbdrive because DVDs are on their way out.

This is an awesome product. My only dilemma is that I cannot transfer all of my VHS tapes because the kind that I have requires an adapter and no company makes an adapter for 8 mm tapes. This situation is not with the Honestech product, it is with those manufacture who make a product and do not make the accompanying product to transfer HOORAY FOR THIS PRODUCT. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD. THIS IS HOW SATISFIED I AM WITH IT. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT. NOW IF YOU CAN ONLY MAKE A PRODUCT THAT I CAN USE TO TRANSFER MY 8 MM TAPES TO DVD, THAT WOULD BE GREAT. BE THE FIRST TO DO SO!

Easy to use. Good transfer. Sometimes takes long time 6-10 hrs to save edit if hr or longer video.

Absolutely easy to use even in the advanced mode. I did have to google the manual a couple of times and the menu/title backgrounds are a little outdated hence the 4 stars and not 5. I highly recommend this product for those wanting to convert their home vhs tapes.

I have been able to convert many VCR tapes to DVD. Quality is not the best, but it does the job.

Pretty easy set up and use for a novice. Exactly what I was looking for. I was able to set it up and capture a video the I got it in the mail. I bought this to digitize a fairly large collection of home footage that has varying quality (some grainier, darker, lighter, etc.). Ive had it for about a month now and captured approx. 6 hrs worth of footage. I did end up scraping about 4 hrs worth because Im still playing around with the settings. Thats more my bad though, I should have waited until I had the software figured out. The only real problems Ive had thus far was shipping from the seller, an operator error on my part, and time to capture the footage.

It does the job really well and I dont have to pay someone to do it for me. It is time consuming to transfer VHS over to computer because it is done in real time but worth it in the end. One thing I have noticed is that it seems to degrade the quality a little bit. The preview window of the video looks better than what the final video quality looks like. Because of this, I docked it a star.

Not bad. The usb end had to be squeezed a little because it kept falling out but once I did that it worked great in the wizard mode. I am still having problems in the advanced mode. I found other software online that works very well if the video is saved to the computer in advanced more and then edited in the other software where I am able to put nicer introductions and some fading in and out. As far as the equipment is concerned, not bad but I would suggest better software like Wondershare video editor for editing the videos after converting them.

Used with Windows 7, 64 bit OS and a 15 year old VHS. I had only unedited transfers from VHS direct to DVD to do, and it did this easily and flawlessly. Very simple to use for this purpose, but I have not tried its advanced features.

Wonderful video bóx, its Powerful for different old devices, as vcr, camcorder, Betamax, turntable. Etc, and the software its great, and can récord from turntable too for music mp3 files. Was the best choice I did, the video editor its soné kind basic, but you can capture your video in Mpg format, export to Avi or MP4 and can handle with another video editor as Camtasia, or Sony Vega
