> 3 dayOkay, a warning: Windows 10 HATES this program. Get ready to struggle. However, it tends to settle down if you record short clips instead of a whole bunch at once. Older software, would love to see it updated.

Greater than one weekUsed with Windows 7, 64 bit OS and a 15 year old VHS. I had only unedited transfers from VHS direct to DVD to do, and it did this easily and flawlessly. Very simple to use for this purpose, but I have not tried its advanced features.

Greater than one weekWe love this product. We had dozens of cassette recordings, years of family stuff, all had been loaded in a dusty cardboard box... for who ever looks at cassettes anymore??? This product saved our family memories, converted them to DVD, where we now burn copies onto DVDs and share those family adventures with our grown kids. Example, our kids were little at their ballgames or birthday parties or talent shows or... and we got them on those old cassette videos. Problem is though we taped a lot of the game/party... way too much. Using this product, we found it easy to clip our old videos, cutting out the parts that no one will ever want to watch, then we merged our clips into a smooth DVD file, titling and dating each one simply by naming each file uniquely. This project is time consuming, dont think this job is going to be done in one day or two shifts. If you have a 45 minute VHS cassette, itll take 45 minutes to convert it to DVD, then, depending on how many clips you cut, add another 45 minutes to realizing your finished DVD product. The few questions I had were quickly answered when I called Honestech for help. Wife, kids and I love it.

> 3 dayWell made and was simple to connect to computer and VCR. Operations were tricky and I believe if the company had video instructions on their website would help the consumer to use their product to its fullest. I will have to say, I believe I have actually managed to rescue two priceless family VHS videos by converting them to DVD. Fortunately a friend had a VCR I was able to borrow to make this transfer. Honestech VHS to DVD was worth the cost. The final transfer to DVD played right away on my DVD player. Unfortunately I wasnt able to use their Editing option as it either didnt work or I just couldnt figure it out. The Easy Wizard Mode is very basic so I stuck with that.

> 3 dayThe device works very well for recording old VHS tapes. The product saved me a lot of time and money! The instruction manual would be greatly improved if more detail was included with respect to selecting the appropriate settings when using the setup wizard. I think novice users may find it difficult to follow.

> 3 dayAfter recording 40 DVDs excellent results, also have used on VHS and Super 8 cam recorder. I used the picture software that accompanies the product to pull photos from my scanner and crop and reprint. I was a little skeptical when I read the other reviews but as sold on this product. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to save their old VHS tapes movies to purchase this product.

> 3 dayThis is an awesome product. My only dilemma is that I cannot transfer all of my VHS tapes because the kind that I have requires an adapter and no company makes an adapter for 8 mm tapes. This situation is not with the Honestech product, it is with those manufacture who make a product and do not make the accompanying product to transfer HOORAY FOR THIS PRODUCT. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD. THIS IS HOW SATISFIED I AM WITH IT. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT. NOW IF YOU CAN ONLY MAKE A PRODUCT THAT I CAN USE TO TRANSFER MY 8 MM TAPES TO DVD, THAT WOULD BE GREAT. BE THE FIRST TO DO SO!

> 3 dayExcept for a few loading issues on Windows 10 I would have given this a 5 star rating. One error message said that it could not load a file because it already existed (so what?) and I skipped that issue. A second issue involved the on-line registration which indicated that my machine was not connected to the internet which it was. These little set-up problems out of the way I tried to capture a video. No problem. It is really quite simple and the 30 odd page manual is a big improvement over the Dazzle one of 300 pages which is on its way back. Thank you Amazon. Dazzle is made by a company noted for video editing and did not separate themselves from that genre long enough to provide a no frills user friendly approach to transferring a vcr video onto a dvd or onto ones computer. Dazzle would do well to consider a quick start guide similar to the one everyone else uses. If one is interested in serious video editing it will probably require a dedicated program. For the simple conversion, this is the best one available.

> 3 dayI have no issues transferring video from a vcr to my computer and from a video camera to my computer. The only issue I found was the editing software but I saved my videos in a format that allowed me to edit them through another program. Overall I am satisfied with this product.

> 3 dayHas some issues. First of all I highly recommend getting a video signal booster between your vcr and this device. I had a lot of weird flickering going on. After calling tech support, they said my vcr signal was probably weak and the device does no amplification. Also this makes random ticking noises through your speakers. Doesnt end up on the video but is annoying. And the most annoying part...the final video can be choppy at times even when you dont see it while you are watching. No doubt a product of digitizing the video. Usually at the beginning of the footage, its all black and white and jumpy until the the device figures out how to track. Very annoying!!!!! Hindsight I wish I could have used a DVD/vcr recorder before they discontinued them.
