> 24 hourI finally decided to buy a projector for hunker-at-home movies during corona times. This 4K projector, @ ~$900, was a great balance of cost vs functionality. @ 3200 lumens, its very decent brightness when the sun goes under, and decent enough in daytime. I chose not to buy a unit with advanced audio processing since I intended to use the projector with firestick. I also purchased a vizio 5.1 sound bar and use bluetooth to connect to the audio, and its been great. The down side of using bluetooth is that you do have to touch the sound bar remote to get it connected. however, saved hundreds of $$ w/o the advanced audio in the projector. One gripe: when the unit goes asleep due to non-activity, the screen goes blank, but it does not shut off the lamp. This seems a bit of an oversight that it could shutoff the bulb and save the bulb lifespan. All-in-all, pretty happy with it.

> 24 hourI have an old Acer 1080p projector that gives a better picture especially for sports. I tried everything to make this look as good. 4k content didnt look 4k and there isnt an optical out. If youre using a non 4k AVR youre screwed with sound without the optical out.

> 24 hourBin hoch zufrieden.

> 24 hourIt doesnt seem to have ARC, or at least I cant get it to work. Black levels are not great, especially with default settings. Turning brightness up to 52 helped a lot with being able to see things in the shadows. Turning BrilliantColor down (to ~7 for HDR, ~1 for SDR) helped keep things from looking washed out. The throw distance is long enough that it shouldnt be in front of you for fully immersive size so Ill probably need to do a ceiling mount. At 120 in a dark room at night It seems a bit too bright even on eco mode since the blacks look gray and bright HDR whites can make me squint. A bigger or lower gain screen will probably improve it. I just got a cheap $20 screen from Amazon and I think the gain is around 1.0? Its close to $500 cheaper then the next cheapest 4k projector, so overall Im very happy with it. I did have a poor experience with a 3rd party amazon seller sending the wrong item, but when I finally got the right version its been great.

> 24 hour[Note, as I write this the unit is marked down to $646 brand new. At that price its worth a gamble as my unit had small defects which may have affected the entire output.] This projector is an example of the cart before the horse. Excellent 4K clarity, brightness, remote, menu response time, plus 3D. However the ground base of any unit is the brightness (ie white) uniformity, which this model has no better of than my old $400 projector which has been serviced multiple times. Projectorcentral reports its uniformity as 60% -- a poor mark, but Im not confident my unit even reached that. The far left side was always brighter than the remainder of the picture, and in mainly white or light scenes such as snow, sky, or sand there was a visible scoop of bright bias. Next, and at least as problematic, was the focus-zoom rings equation. The zoom ring was very stiff and jumpy, making it impossible to mask the pixel grid (screen door effect) as normally with a DLP projector you focus and zoom to maximum sharpness so that text aliases, then delicately dial down the zoom so that text is naturally rounded, thus reducing the pixel grid to a tolerable visibility of ~9 distance (which isnt affected by the size of the screen projected). However the focus and zoom were so fiddly on this model that they constantly borked the convergence and uniformity further, focus messing up the left side of the image, and focus the right, that I had to leave it at maximum sharpness, meaning a constantly visible screen door effect on any light surface. Crap. Then there were the menu lockouts. Color tweaking possibilities for this model are more than adequate when available. For whatever reason, more often than not they would be locked out, so, eg, Id play a film and the Movie color mode Id had it on previously would now be locked in place, so not only could I not tweak it, I couldnt select another mode or temperature profile. Sharpness seems only to be available for native 4K content too. Lastly, a couple glitches. My USB port would not power anything. I just turned it off via the menu before it created additional problems. The Blank feature would instead turn the projector instantly off -- which is not merely irritating but potentially destructive as projectors are built to run the fans for 30 seconds to a minute while powering down in order to expel pent up heat. Bonus info: I couldnt hear the 4K shift, which is to the good, as thats a common complaint. High altitude mode, if youre in the mountains or just somewhere very hot, is quite loud as is pretty much always the case with these small projectors, so youll need a hushbox if youre running it.

> 24 hourI had had a 1024P 3D projector before. Over time, the fan burnt out. Being 1024P, I didnt want to pay to replace it, didnt want another 1024P, and didnt want to spend what 4K projectors cost. This solved all of those issues. It is a quality product and I am happy I purchased it. After using it for 4 to 5 months, I have zero complaints.
