If you are planning on having this in your bedroom, beware that it makes a super high pitch intermittent beeping sound while it’s turned OFF. It’s a quiet beep but loud enough that it keeps us up at night. We have to literally unplug this thing every night before bed otherwise it keeps us up. I love this projector but wish I had the box to return it based on that single defect. Drives me nuts.

Decided to build a projector screen (PVC board) for our patio area for nighttime movies. Since it is outside, I didnt want to trying to mount a projector and found out about short throw units like this. Screen size is 138 (diagonal), projector is about 7 away, and only 15 off the ground. I built a custom stand to allow quick tilting and levelling adjustments. This unit is awesome! Nice and bright, clear HD picture (Chromecast TV HDMI dongle), zoom/focus/keystone adjustments are simple to do quickly from the top of the unit and were good to go. Very satisfied!

PX-701 4K ... For the amount of money paid, I would expect far more from a projector, the whole point for getting a 4k is to see a screen with a decent colour. This projector might tick boxes in detail and pixel shifting, but thats pointless when is so dull and lifeless. If the contrast and colour are adjusted in manual, it scrapes close to passible, however in doing that, the dark scenes are virtually invisible. All in all , I would not recommend this a contender at £900, I went back to a 15 year old quality projector and there isnt much difference. To add the loud noise , tacky remote, for this money, you expect something half premium. There should be separate review page for each model to give the buyer a better buying experience. not wade through a bunch of review on unrelevent models. Extremely underwhelmed and dissapointed.

Super amazing value, much better than purchasing a TV!

This is not a primary television. We have 7 other televisions in our home so this is only used when we have gatherings or “movie night” I bought it in May and have only used it a handful of times. It will not come On and stay on now. Since we do use it so little I have tried to get a refund from original seller and they refuse saying I’m outside the window. The window is unreasonable on these types of items when it’s not used daily you aren’t able to test durability within the window allotted.

I waited for a while to pull the trigger on a 4k projector - 1080p on a 200 screen just wasnt cutting it anymore. I got tired of being able to see the scan lines, plus my old projector was only like 600 lumens so it only worked in basically total darkness. This projector is a quantum leap from that 1080p machine. Ive been in this game a very long time. I used to refurbish 3-gun CRT projectors back in the day because despite being big, clunky, and maintenance-heavy, they put out the absolute best picture money could buy back then. Soon LED and DLP technology got better and better and it just didnt make sense to have a 300 pound projector built into a coffee table anymore whenever something that weighs less than a pound can put out a picture thats nearly as good. So there we have it - its taken technology thirty years to finally catch up to the 4k analog days of CRT projectors, but boy have they ever and in a huge way. This projector is a bargain and it blows away anything else Ive ever owned. The brightness levels are insane - actually a little too much - I recommend using Dynamic Eco Mode as it is still plenty bright and will increase lamp life dramatically. The picture that this thing puts out is outstanding. Do I wish the keystone controls were a little better or that the optical zoom was better so that I didnt have to relocate my projector to the back of the room? Sure I do, but projectors that do that cost twice as much and dont put out a much better picture. This thing is absolutely the best bang for the buck out there in home theater right now. My only real complaint is that sometimes on white lettering I can see the chromatic aberration rainbow effect, but it doesnt happen a lot and Ive learned to ignore it. If youre on the fence and have a large enough room to support the long throw on this projector, I wouldnt hesitate a bit.

After 3 months of use I saw a small white dot on my screen I contacted Viewsonic. They said they would replace it. They sent me a refurbished unit. See the second picture which has all these white circles all over the screen. I told them I just want a refund and they said I need to go through Amazon. What a hassle this has been.

There was a differing opinion about whether this projector had enough lumens, etc. to be seen during daylight. The truth is that it doesn’t. Fantastic picture quality at dark...very decent at pretty dark. Cant see picture hardly at all even at 6-7:00 pm on an overcast day. I’m pleased with the projector/would buy again but if you’re planning an event and counting on this to be seen before dark....adjust your expectations. Happy viewing!!
