1/30/23 Projector stopped working after a year and a half. Contacted Viewsonic and was approved for RMA and was informed that the bulb went bad. It’s a pretty good projector, but the bulb didnt last 20,000 hours in SuperEco mode as advertised. The bulb warranty is only for 1 year and cost ~$200 if you purchase a bulb through them. I decided to purchase a lamp from a third party and just had them return the projector without a working lamp. 3/7/23 Projector came in, i replaced the lamp and after turning it on I noticed that the image was warped in the middle and had to send it back to them for another RMA. 3/23/23 Projector came back and projected a perfect rectangle image out of the box. However, I noticed that the zoom knob was turned all the way to the left(when facing the projector upright) which projected a smaller image. After testing the zoom setting, I noticed that the device was only able to project a perfect rectangle shaped image when the zoom knob is adjusted to show the smallest image up to right dead in the middle. Shifting the zoom knob beyond the middle showed warping at the top center of projected image. I contacted Customer support to report my findings and was issued a replacement. And it comes with a bulb! 4/7/23 Projector came in and is running great again. Projected image is a perfect rectangle from the lowest to the highest settings using the zoom knob. It did come with a new lamp, hopefully this one lasts 20,000 hrs as advertised. Overall, it’s a solid projector from a solid company. The projector is bright, has low latency and high fresh rate. Perfect for gaming, watching movies or even using it as a PC monitor. Only downside was the bulb that came with my projector did not last as long as it was advertised. Customer support was great and responded in a timely fashion.

nice projector but with limitations, pros: very bright image in dynamic mode and normal mode, well detailed image. cons: the zoom and focus work apparently in a funny way (but maybe it was me not able to set them properly?) in eco mode and super eco mode the image is not bright; in all 4 options and despite the adjustments made the visual effect is not very engaging (in dynamic mode it definitely improves); It is a good product for the price but with many limitations, personally I will opt to spend 200 pounds more and buy an epson 7000 projector.

So Ive ordered the 748-4k 11 times. Yes. Eleven. The first one I actually recieved it! Now it has some major glitches. If you play something in HDR, then go back to SDR? Its colorspace is stuck and looks wrong. You have to go into the settings, turn the colorspace to hdr, then back to sdr. Every, single time. Plus there were noticeable lines where something internally was bad. So! I sent it back. The next 3 times I ordered it, Viewsonic cancelled it. Every, time. So I was curious, put a different address and name down and they sent it! Problem is, its likely the exact same one. Same issues. But I thought, the picture is really superb past the glitches, Ill live with it. Died within a month. They sent a bulb out, which did not fix it. Likely the dmd chip died. So! I sent it back. Tried ordering it multiple, upon multiple times and every retailer cancelled it. Until the 11th time, Amazon actually sent it. Opened it up, its a ancient benq projector thats been in a smokers home. Even had a tag on it where viewsonic shipped it to amazon first. 11 times trying to order a product, and they do this? Im figuring Im a joke to them at this point. So I ordered the Optoma uhd38 and IT JUST WORKS! No hdr to sdr glitches. Now it isnt nearly as bright, even though both claim 4000 lummens. The 748-4k has a better 1.3x zoom compared to 1.1x on the optoma. The 748-4k is the winner overall picture wise. The issue? The actual case and fan, isnt nearly big enough to actually cool the thing. In normal youre probably fine. Problem is eco slows the fan down, and thats where Id bet why it died. After owning the p700hd for years, and STILL going strong, I figured Id give the 748-4k a shot. But the p700hd doesnt run as hot, has a much bigger case and fan to cool it. Viewsonic has became a nightmare to buy from, and would highly, HIGHLY reccomend consider something else.

Upgraded to 4k and delighted with this. Picture quality is great and really easy to use. Tried a 4k Epsom but this is far quieter and has a greater range for adjustment. Really recommend this

I bought this projector for our outdoor patio. Some people claim that you can watch things in daylight, that is not true. The picture is visible in daylight but too washed out to enjoy. We use it once it gets dark out and it gets very bright then. This is a 1080P projector and looks great at proper viewing distances (not too close up). We have it projecting an image on a 100 screen. Colors are accurate, picture is bright, and there isnt much visible lag.

Source keeps disconnecting. Not sure if it the google tv . Waiting for amazon stick to arrive and will update Update: I finally got my amazon firestick 4k max. Firestick is amazing but it coulb not control the projector power or volume. Or my bluetook speaker. It just wont work . I still have an issue with the source detection . Source detection still happen once in a while even i put every setting to auto. Changing source also takes. A while. I also found another very anoying issue. The shadow on the sides affer correcting the sides remains , it will always looks like you have a crooked screen once in a while . I tried to ignore but I cant anymore. Buy a tv instead Im done with projector

It doesnt seem to have ARC, or at least I cant get it to work. Black levels are not great, especially with default settings. Turning brightness up to 52 helped a lot with being able to see things in the shadows. Turning BrilliantColor down (to ~7 for HDR, ~1 for SDR) helped keep things from looking washed out. The throw distance is long enough that it shouldnt be in front of you for fully immersive size so Ill probably need to do a ceiling mount. At 120 in a dark room at night It seems a bit too bright even on eco mode since the blacks look gray and bright HDR whites can make me squint. A bigger or lower gain screen will probably improve it. I just got a cheap $20 screen from Amazon and I think the gain is around 1.0? Its close to $500 cheaper then the next cheapest 4k projector, so overall Im very happy with it. I did have a poor experience with a 3rd party amazon seller sending the wrong item, but when I finally got the right version its been great.

My units doesnt work as stated. I only tested it recently and I am assuming it was a manufacturing defect as I have double checked with multiple usb-c video output devices to input into the projector.
