Do not believe one of the top comments saying one needs only a USB 3.1 cable to display to this monitor. It is not true, the company has false advertising claiming compatibility with Macs, which is not the case without an adaptor. Third party adaptors most likely wont work either. One probably must purchase an Apple one and cough out $70 and utilize the adaptors HDMI to connect to this monitor as the usb-c connectivity of this monitor does not support thunderbolt, not allowing macs to display. The company representatives also wont offer any real help on the issue, rather referring you to Apple customer support, leaving you on your own.

I tried the provided USB Type C cable, the provided DisplayPort cable, and this USB Type C (3.1) cable (https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-Type-C-Gen1-Cable/dp/B01GGKYUKI), and all I got was No signal on the screen. I am extremely frustrated and dont know why my macbook pro 16 is not working with this monitor. googling didnt help much, but i could confirm other people were seeing this issue, perhaps due to a macOS problem. I hope someone from ViewSonic can help.

Monitor perform very well - good color, excellent picture quality, brightness is much better than my prior monitor. Im using 2560x1440p resolution - and use it as my primary monitor. I also have a 21 HP 1-8-p monitor as my 2nd monitor and am using the laptop screen as monitor 3. All three interact well in Windows10. The 2560x1440 gives me plenty of working area on the main screen -- often I use 2-3 windows on that screen and can still position them to view all with only slight overlaps. I use screen 2 as the screen to share for online presentations or to park an open document or Excel for frequent reference. I only keep then laptop screen open so I can use Hello Windows login from the laptop camera -- I dont really use the screen often. I deliberately bought the USB C to have one cable connections - but due to some other port needs, Im actually connected using HDMI for now so I cannot comment on that capability.

I was in the market for an affordable 26inch+ USB-C monitor for my new Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I wanted it to have 3 things: 1. USB-C for power and video 2. Greater than 1080p resolution 3. Good tilt and swivel This monitor was the only one I found that fit these criteria and was under $400. The mechanism to attach the monitor to the base is very good, easy to connect and seems very secure. It also requires no tools. The bezel is very thin on the tops and sides, a little bigger at the bottom. I has some usb inputs on the monitor also, which are useful. The only downside is that the XPS I have requires 130v power input, which is very high for a laptop, and so you get a message about slow charger connected when using the usb-c here for video and charging. I dont know that many monitors or cables could pass through that much power anyway? Most laptops require less wattage and should have no issues. Overall a very good looking monitor. Would definitely recommend.

I purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24=122.38 PPI). Its nice to see companies still producing normally-sized monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that sweet-spot. The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of 75 hertz. (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor)

Overall this really is an outstanding monitor. Not the lowest cost, but not high either. The picture is crystal clear and that is the main thing. The stand is one of the best I have seen. Smaller footprint but sturdy and loaded with features. Also hats off to Viewsonic for the formed paper packaging instead of styrofoam. Very nice environmental touch and you deserve a star just for that. I hope that more companies go this route. There are a couple of issues I will list but mostly these are nitpiks. 1 - The finished side of the base faces the rear of the monitor. The less finished side faces the front. You will see this in any picture. The back facing of the base looks great but it really should be facing the front. 2 - The brightness needs to be turned up especially in a bright room. Not bad but it is a little dimmer naturally, so a higher brightness setting is needed. 3 - No Display Port cord. Personally I would rather it shipped with a DP cord than an HDMI cord, but that is me. It does come with the USB cord and USB - C cord, but that DP cord would have been a better option. I had to buy 2 for the dual monitor setup I use. Again these are really just nitpiks and nothing that would stop this monitor from receiving 5 stars.

I have a 13 Macbook Pro from 2016. With just the included USB C cable (monitor to computer) and the included power cable (wall to monitor), you can power the monitor, keep the computer charged, and plug your peripherals into the monitor directly. Those peripherals receive power (e.g. charging a usb power bank) and also can talk to your computer (e.g. a USB webcam) if needed. I was searching for a while for a monitor that supports 2K resolutions (the most this Macbook Pro can pump out), charging the computer over the data cable, and transmits the USB signal from peripherals downstream to the computer. This does all of it! Super happy with this purchase and it comes at a great cost.

The picture looks great! Sharp definition for what I need. Can’t complain! Have it hooked up to my Lenovo laptop. Very happy with it!

I bought this monitor specifically because it has an USB 3.1 C port, which would allow me to plug it directly into my IPad Pro 12.9 4th gen port. It played for a few moments then lost the signal. Then I saw that my USB-C port no longer worked, I could not charge my IPad, the port was dead. I called Apple and they made me an appointment at Best Buy. The tech there did a hard reset and it functioned again. His explanation was that the monitor was supplying an unacceptable current to the IPad. Apple has software that recognizes when this happen and shuts of the port to avoid damaging the tablet. A hard reset will bring the tablet’s port back to life. The tech said I should not use the monitor again. Also I could not use the buttons on the monitor to access the setup menu, all in all this thing was junk. Returned it to Amazon for a refund, no problem there at least. Amazon really stands behind whatever they sell.
