20-11-2024Great monitor. The USB-c connector is a game changer since I now have a single cable both charging my laptop and connecting it to the monitor.

> 3 dayThe monitor is used in my 3 screen workstation for CAD and pdf work. It is a good monitor with clean images. It does have this habit of giving me a black screen and no input message about once per week. My other two monitors do not. It requires me to remove power cord and plug back in to clear it. I keep using it because the price was right. This unit is a little over a year old.

Greater than one weekExcellent monitor for the price range. The USB Type C connection is very reliable and allows you to connect a USB-C laptop with only 1 cable and if you are using it for a non-USB-C device, you can connect with HDMI or DP and also connect the USB Type B cable to activate the USB Type A hub on the monitor. The USB hub is great if you have multiple devices you switch between like work and personal laptops and want them to instantly connect to other USB devices (like a docking station). I keep my USB wireless adapters for the mouse and keyboard plugged in the monitor and just switch the laptops when needed. I use it with my HP Elite X2 and by connecting it with the USB-C cable, I get the following: 1) Charges the laptop and keeps it at 100% while using it. 2) Delivers HD video and audio to the monitor without the need for HDMI or DP cables. 3) Activates the USB hub in the monitor (3 additional USB Type A ports for the computer) without the need to connect the USB Type B cable. My only disappointment is the sound. The built in speakers are so weak that you can barely hear anything. So just pretend they dont exist and get external speakers or a soundbar.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitor for 2019 macbook pro. Besides the pros that other reviewers mentioned. I like to point out 3 pros It comes with a usb type c cable so no need to buy a separate usb type c cable. It has a strong sturdy base which prevent easy tip over. The power provided by the monitor is able to charge my 2019 macbook pro 15

> 3 daySuper happy with this monitor. USB C video and sound work perfectly with no additional software needed. Wonky controls can be frustrating at first but once you figure them out it is easy. Amazing value for the money.

> 3 dayI needed a USB Type C monitor and this was the best one I could find in my price range. It has everything that I need and has worked great ever since I bought it.

> 3 dayMonitor is good, but it is not very supportive of Apple computers. The USB-C cable the monitor came with worked for my windows laptop, but it did not for my macbook pro. I had to spend another $15 for a usb-c cable that looks pretty identical to the one that came in the box. Im not sure the why the cable the monitor came with didnt work, but I wished Viewsonic would fix this because a lot of other reviewers had this problem too. Unfortunately, the monitor software it comes with is only available for Windows too. I was really excited about the possibility of using just 1 cord to charge my mac and hook it up to a monitor, but the power the monitor delivers wasnt enough to keep my battery charged. My laptop needs 61W according to Apple, and this monitor provides 60W. I was hoping the 1W wouldnt make a difference, but it does. Viewsonic should up the wattage this monitor provides since 60W is not a lot for a laptop. EDIT: I changed my review to 5 stars because for some reason, the charging is now working and keeping my laptop at 100%.

> 3 dayWASTE of money, mine is already being returned. The internal stereo speakers are utterly laughable, theyre small and shrill and pathetic. Sounds like a 90s nokia phone in a tin cup. Of course, the sound over USB Type-C cant be controlled from your device and there are NO VOLUME BUTTONS, you have to dive into the menu?!? Another lacking feature? Theres no Portrait mode switch when you rotate (like most decent monitors); you have to handle that from your device if it supports that. Really pathetic for a 2019/2020 gaming monitor, this is some budget parts-bin trash with a couple good ports soldered on. Sure, USB Type-C input gives a good clear image, BUT so do a hundred better monitors for the money. Viewsonic just lost (another) customer for good, by putting out this cut-corners garbage. DO NOT waste your money, buy something else.

> 3 dayUpdated Review: 5/5 stars ViewSonic customer support was great. They admitted there was a problem with firmware updating on MacOS and sent me a replacement monitor and a pre-paid shipping label to send mine back in the same box. The new monitor came with the newest firmware and it works flawlessly. They said that they would fix the bug that breaks monitors during firmware updating, but I still wont risk updating this monitor. Besides the firmware update issue, the only other complaint I have is that the speakers are useless; theyre completely flat and tinny. Other than that, the picture quality and the build quality are excellent. Original Review: 1/5 stars This monitor was great when I first got it. The image is bright and the colors are good. It charges my 15 MacBook Pro and gets 2K output at 60FPS and acts as a USB hub, all over a single (included) USB-C cable. The monitor stand is also very nice, it allows easy height, tilt and rotation adjustment and the setup took less than 5 minutes with no tools. However... I installed the VDisplay software (which lets you control some monitor settings from your computer) and noticed that the monitor had a firmware update available. My monitor was on M001 before the update. After the update, it went to M002, but my monitor could no longer display a proper image. Everything was horribly mangled and covered in rainbow static. Ive tried a laptop and an iPad, Ive tried USB-C and HDMI. Ive reset all monitor settings and tried changing color and display settings. Nothing fixed it. Now my monitor is completely worthless

> 3 dayThis monitor has a nice screen and features and is fine for general use. As many have mentioned the stand is excellent. My biggest issue with this monitor is that it will only provide 30Hz through the USB-C port, which is not disclosed in the documentation, and that the power through that port is insufficient to power a Macbook pro 16 under moderate / heavy load, which I did expect, but it seems pretty lame. So if you want to play a game, youll need to plug in your power adapter and connect to the HDMI or other port to get 60Hz. I verified that one only gets 30Hz through the USB-c port on several computers including a Lenovo. Viewsonic support tried to help me with this but eventually gave up.
