> 3 dayUpdate: both monitors I purchased have started making quiet whistling noises, sounds similar to the noise made by an old hard drive when its seeking lots of data. This monitor has a super annoying feature where it changes the backlight brightness based on how much white is onscreen. This makes it impossible to set your brightness to a comfortable level. If you use dark mode apps like I do, you adjust your brightness so theyre readable. BUT, then if you open a light mode window, all of a sudden the monitor ramps up the brightness and its blindingly bright. Very stupid feature, very frustrating, defeats the whole point of setting the brightness. After a lot of digging through menus, I finally found a way to turn off the auto brightness. Its under Setup Menu -> ECO Mode. On a different topic, my macbook pro refuses to remember that this monitor is rotated, but that could be apples fault. Also, this monitor has a game mode which presumably runs faster, but it makes all the colors look washed out and ugly.

> 3 dayI love that I can manipulate this monitor in so many different ways. It is completely flexible and free to move around. It was extremely easy to set up as part of an extended screen setup with a docking station. I like that I can adjust the monitor settings so easily. Very good investment.

Greater than one weekThis monitor is AWESOME! It looks good, it was easy to set up, and the picture is great. But the best part is the USB-C. Im using a ThinkPad T16 and with this monitor, I dont need my dock or my AC adapter anymore! Now I just have a single USB-C cable coming from the monitor, I plug it into my ThinkPad, and Im ready to work! My USB mouse and USB headset are plugged into the monitor. The USB-C cable is driving the monitor, and its also charging my ThinkPad at the same time. How cool is that! If I had one suggestion about what could make this monitor better, I wish there were more USB ports on the back. There are 2 USB ports on the side, but I wish these were on the back instead, because that would help with cable management for peripherals like my mouse and headset which are always plugged into the monitor. One other thing - it comes with a USB-C cable; the product description doesnt say anything about this, and I ended up ordering a USB-C cable separately which was not needed.

> 3 dayDo not believe one of the top comments saying one needs only a USB 3.1 cable to display to this monitor. It is not true, the company has false advertising claiming compatibility with Macs, which is not the case without an adaptor. Third party adaptors most likely wont work either. One probably must purchase an Apple one and cough out $70 and utilize the adaptors HDMI to connect to this monitor as the usb-c connectivity of this monitor does not support thunderbolt, not allowing macs to display. The company representatives also wont offer any real help on the issue, rather referring you to Apple customer support, leaving you on your own.

> 3 dayTry both Anker and Cable Matters video cables, this monitor only works for wife MacBook Air 2020, but not for my MacBook Pro 2018 nor sons MacBook Air 2019. Try upgraded to Catalina 10.15.4 , reset NVRAM but still no luck, very frustrated and hope someone knows the solution.

> 3 dayIve had one of these for about 1.5 years, and its been a wonderful tool for getting my desk work done. The monitor is crisp, bright, and well suited for creating and editing reports. I also use it for editing of images for my research, and the color range and contrast seem as good as my MacBook Pro display. A great feature of this monitor is the excellent position adjustment range, in particular, it can be adjusted downward to be within ~0.75 of the work table which is my preferred location. Finally, the ability for one cable to serve as the video cable and charging cable is really cool. Mine came with the necessary cable for this. The speakers do suck, but I just configure my Macbook Pro to use the built-in speakers on the laptop.

> 3 dayThe monitor seems great except that the USB-C does not function. I tried two different computers (MacBook and MacBook Air) and two different USB-C cables (Apple and Belkin) that support power and video, but the monitor does not detect video (it just provides power). Fortunately I can use HDMI and USB-A for now, but I bought it specifically for USB-C to reduce cable clutter. Ill be calling support to see if they can replace.

> 3 dayFor the price this monitor is a good value. Have had Viewsonic for years and this is the best of a mid-range monitor for general use and application development. Not a gamer so cant comment on use as a gaming monitor.
