> 3 dayI recently needed to replace my Viewsonic 20 CRT monitors on my everyday computer setup. Ive had 20-21 monitors for nearly 20 years and dual 20 or 21s for the last 12-13. Got use to all the desktop real estate and then couldnt live without it. One of mine developed a power supply problem and theres no one around to fix them anymore. I still prefer CRT monitors, the color is richer and theres much more flexibility. I was reluctantly going to flat panels. I bought a pair of 20 Viewsonic LCDs thinking it would be the same as what I had. I did a ton of research before I bought, this was my first flat panel purchase and I got up to speed on all the specs to compare and look for. The one thing I didnt see anything about was how to buy when you are switching from CRTs to LCDs. Especially if you are already using big monitors. The 20 Viewsonics had good specs, but where not in the ball park with my 20 CRTs. Didnt come close to the same resolution. I returned them and got a pair of these 24 Viewsonics. Going to the 24 LCDs from the 20 CRTs is close to a vertical upgrade. Same width resolution as the CRT, less height, but thats the thing about LCDs. They have a fixed resolution to run them at, and they wont go over that, even if your video card can. Its nice to not have million pound monitors to deal with, (~60, actually), and they are crisper for most of the stuff I do on this system. Certainly a good monitor for the price. Especially considering I paid $1000 for the first 21 CRT I bought, and it was used. If you are upgrading from large CRTs,you definitely need to look at the resolution limit of the LCDs and I recommend you go bigger if you want a comparable setup when youre done.

> 3 dayTL;DR: Great picture quality that has held its own against video games running on the highest video settings and no issues with the coloring. Highly recommended. I liked this one so much that i just bought a second one so that i can have a duel monitor setup. I bought the monitor a little over 5 months ago when i was building a new computer that would be able to handle all of my college and gaming needs. I was really hesitant after reading about the washed out colors and people complaining about the contrast settings, but it was what i could afford at the time, so I got it anyway. I have no complaints. The coloring is just fine and the settings are really easy to manipulate if you want to change anything to meet your standards. Ive put hours of use into this this day in and day out and i have never had an issue with the picture quality. I run games on Ultra settings and the picture comes out just as beautiful as the $300+ screen that my roommate bought for his gaming rig 8 months ago. Im not saying that this could match up against video and picture editing computer screens (which tend to be $500+), but you will definitely get your moneys worth. The speakers are not the best, but they are monitor speekers and you can only expect so much (especially at this low of a price). If you want better speakers you just need to buy some for cheep on line, but these speakers will definitely get the job done until then. If you are looking for a gaming/home/work computer screen that will give you great, quality performance then look no further. I recommend using a DVI cable for the best quality.

> 3 dayMy dad has this monitor for the computer in the house. I use to LOVE using his computer over mine until I made the same purchase myself. My dad has a really good computer guy ($140.00/hour). He does amazing work, but of course I can’t afford him. I’ve had amazon for years, so I try to get all of my items from Amazon vs. dealing with a direct person or going to a store. I found this on amazing, and the best part was that it was cheaper here than with my dads computer guy and with the free 2-day shipping. I actually think it was free 1-day shipping. I love that the buttons to run off are easy to use. I like how the light goes on when you turn the monitor on and goes away when it’s being turned off. The quality of the screen is very good. I would highly recommend this.

> 3 dayThe picture overall is quite amazing. Had to set the brightness and contrast to 50 / 50 at set up because it was blinding when first turned on. The darks and brights are great. HOWEVER... there is a very annoying back light that beams through on the right side. Since I do a lot of graphic and video editing, I need t see everything for what it really is to properly do my editing and color corrections, etc. This will be useful as a side monitor to just use for side stuff but for a main monitor, not good for what I do. Update: Amazon is amazing! Called about the issue and in less than a minute they put in to ship for a replacement and was done! 2 days later got the replacement and the image is amazing. A great monitor! Amazon... thank you for the best customer service on the planet!!!

> 3 dayPros 1. Worked great out of the box 2. menu system intuitive 3. nice style 4. power light easy to see, but dispersed below viewsonic symbol so it is not annoying in any way. 5. driver set up was easy 6. device/screen always cool to the touch. Cons Havent found any yet, this is a great desk monitor for everyone who doesnt care that colors are perfect, but most cant tell the difference anyhow. Edit: Been using for a while, there is massive interference in the headphone jack relay. Since I own two of these monitors, the interference is highly noticeable on both. Basically, you just cant use the headphone jack relay. Not only does it not transfer the audio volume well, but anything past 40% volume in the monitor setup wizard creates pulsating interference. 4/5 because of audio problem and it just doesnt make sense to put a monitor without perfect colors as a 5/5.

> 3 dayMy model: ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 1080p Using for ~4 months. I needed a second monitor to extend my laptops display. For work use, I use it as a second monitor for coding and browsign internet. For home use, I use is to play games, watch sports, TV/movies/Netflix. This is my main entertainemnt display because I dont use the TV that much and this is convenient in my room. I bought this after a lot of research on TN, IPS, VA, etc. panels. TN panels have a complaint of having untrue colors at a wider angle like more than 160 degrees. Even though I am not using it at that wide angle, I dont see any color distortion. Resolution is really good (1920 x 1080) and its really nice to have a lot of space for multiple windows instead of switching. Its very easy to assemble too; it took about 10 minutes. Great monitor overall and worth the price (I bought it at $120). I would recommend it for any use case since there is a 22 and 27 variant too.

Greater than one weekGreat second monitor to use with a laptop. I like that it has speakers included for an easy docking station setup with fewer parts.

> 3 dayIm using this with a mini PC that is mounted on the back of the monitor. I wanted to try my hand at animation and needed a reasonably good monitor. It is a good step up from my Chromebook. An unexpected surprise is that the monitor has its own speakers. They are not great but seem to work okay. The base for the monitor was easy enough to assemble (no tools required) and took only a minute or two to put together. There are several buttons under the right bottom edge of the screen, one being the the power button. Several cables are included; unfortunately, a HDMI cable was not included. I am satisfied with my purchase. Providing it doesnt die in the near future, it should be fine. Edit: I was having trouble with the volume buttons and adjusting the volume for the monitor speakers. After I downloaded the driver for this monitor, that problem went away. I advise downloading the driver from the ViewSonic website after receiving this monitor. It appears to be a necessity.

19-11-2024I ordered thirty of these monitors. The monitors are fine; theyre beautiful, exactly what we expected, and we have had no problems with them yet. The problem was that it took nine days to get them all because Amazon shipped them using USPS. The delivery date kept getting put off. I had frustrating calls to Support for help, and finally got a local USPS Supervisor on the phone. He told me they couldnt deliver on time because there was no room on the truck. Finally, over a two day period they were finally delivered. We have these issues often with USPS, and never with FedEx or UPS. Clearly USPS does not have the capacity to manage the additional load that Amazon has entrusted to them.

> 3 dayI knew my old monitor was dying when it would fade to black within a few seconds of being turned on -- but I didnt realize how bad it had been until I turned on this ViewSonic monitor -- WOW!!! It is clear & bright -- I can really identify items on my display. About the shipping -- I ordered it from Amazon because they said 2 day shipping. I was disappointed when they informed me that it wouldnt arrive until Friday - snow was also coming - (I was really wanting it on Wednesday!) But Amazon has alternate shippers that really came through -- they delivered it yesterday (Wednesday). Congratulations to Amazon for not only having quality products but finding a way to have it delivered as originally stated!
