Greater than one weekFirst off this monitor has stunning detail and clarity in all regards. Text is bright, defined and easy to read. The Video on this monitor looks as good or better than it does on my 42 Samsung LED HD TV. The games I play also look better on this monitor than the other monitors I own (which include these 22 and 23 inch monitors. ViewSonic VA2246M, a HP 2159M and an Acer G236HL. The refresh rate at 60Hz could be better, and compared to an old school CRT it seems to slow frame rate a little more than I care for, but the frame rate was measured from a basic low end PC, with an Intel 2000 onboard graphics adapter, and can be resolved by a simple graphics card upgrade (with a GeForce 630 the frame rate is very acceptable for my purposes). The addition of an HDMI input is a nice addition and is a useful addition compared to other monitors in this price range. (HDMI/DVI/VGA and audio inputs are easily accessible). After setting this monitor up, and comparing it to the other monitors Im using. The color and detail, and contrast is what has really impressed me. At a price near the $160.00 mark, this monitor would seem to priced in the lower echelon of desktop monitors (let alone multimedia units). But its performance seems to reach well above other monitors in this price range. I did play with the color balance a little and it helped to create a more realistic palate when browsing photos and video. But right out of the box the colors were brighter, with more detail than on the other monitors Ive mentioned above. None of those monitors had the crispness in the whites, the deep blacks, or depth of color this monitor has, and none are even close after making a few minor adjustments in the monitors menu pannel. As with most monitors the panel of adjustments are easy to reach and use, and the Intel display adjustments allow for fast easy onscreen preview when adjusting this monitor (which did not require a great deal of tuning to satisfy my needs. In addition to the great color, detail and contrast, other options this monitor offers could make it attractive for many buyers. 1. The game mode option adjust contrast, and might or might not be something I use in the future, but its there and might come in useful. 2. The mounting options give the monitor some flexibility and at this size I could see mounting it on a wall for various uses. 3. Built in 2 watt SRS Audio might be attractive in many environments. 4 The weight, it is very lite for a 24 monitor which makes handling quick and easy. 5. Streaming Video from YouTube - Amazon Prime and Netflix on this monitor is as good as it gets. As I said the monitor looks as good or better than my Samsung HD TV. (unlike the other monitors I own this monitor re-creates a true HD experience. Im sure there are other things to consider, and these few might or might not be on everyones list, but at least a couple were on mine. Over all Not owning a monitor over $200.00 I cannot really compare this unit to one of the higher rated displays. But rating it at a monitor closer to $150.00 mark than the $200.00 price range I can say my initial reaction is that if your thinking about its a very good bet. The assembly should take maybe two minutes if your slow (meaning fast and easy). The resulting construction feels solid and it sits square without wobble on my desk. I did not try the speakers, since I have a set that I enjoy and at 2 watts the speakers were not a part of my purchasing decision. I was hoping for at least good color and detail and I believe that this monitor does an excellent job and surpasses my hopes in those regards. Even attached as a basic workstation monitor, this monitor expands the basic productivity that my other monitors provide in that regard. The actual display at 23.6 is large enough to create a smooth easy transition between multiple tasks... However this monitor goes far beyond a basic workstation unit and does a very good to excellent job in multimedia and gaming situations as well (matched with a PC designed for gaming I think it would be a very good choice as an entry level gaming monitor as well). Finally Im Extremely happy with this purchase, and would recommend it as a great choice for an everyday 24 display.

Greater than one weekI bought this monitor to use with my MacBook Pro, which is running MacOS Sierra. So happy with this purchase!!! Installation was simply. I plugged my monitor in, using the HDMI port. It was immediately recognized by my Mac. I only had to check the mirror box in the System Preferences and I was up and running. I didnt have to mess with the resolution settings, at all. It works, looks beautiful, and is just wide enough to easily allow for two pages /documents on your screen, without using the split screen feature. I usually buy ViewSonic monitors, for my employer, so I naturally gravitated toward this brand. The monitors at my office usually last a very long time. After reading reviews, I found that ViewSonic is one of the best and cheapest brands for monitors. Im very happy with my purchase. Keep in mind that if you are plugging this into a MacBook, you will probably need a mini-display port, to HDMI cord. I bought mine on Amazon for $10. It is the Benfei 4k Mini Displayport to HDMI 6 cable; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0146N8BDO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are other ones to choose from, but this one works easily. It is a cord, not an adapter. Just plug the HDMI end (big end) into your monitor and the mini-display port (small end) into your MacBook. There are other brands, but this one had good reviews and seems to be a good quality product.

> 3 dayI have no idea what happened. I just came home one day and noticed, while plugged in, the orange light wasnt on. Ive tested several outlets but nothing turns it on any more. Theres also no clear way to disassemble and see if its a PSU issue.

> 3 dayTo put this review into perspective, I purchased this monitor to replace a 6 year old HP LP2065 20 LCD monitor which is not HDCP compliant. On installing this monitor, I noted that the image was bright and lacking in contrast. Brightness and contrast are adjustable in the manual mode in the menu. Adjustments made the image better, but was still lacking in black level performance. Fine text was definitely softer than that on the HP monitor. When scrolling text, a yellow smear was visible trailing the text. This effect was mostly eliminated when switching to the Game mode. However, switching to this mode sets the brightness and contrast to fixed values. They are no longer manually adjustable. I had attended a wedding and took pictures with my digital camera. I processed the raw files and adjusted them the best I could based on the monitors image. I had trouble getting them to look right. The color accuracy of this monitor is definitely sub-par. When I printed some of these pictures, they were dark and dull looking, not at all how they looked on the screen. I put back the old HP monitor and looked at the processed images. They were dark and dull on the screen, exactly how they printed. I reprocessed the raw files and now have good looking prints. At this point, I packed up the monitor for return. It cost me just under $15 to ship it back. Lesson learned. Here is a summary: Pros HDCP compliant Inexpensive Light weight Bright image No hot or dead pixels Good horizontal viewing angle Comes with a complete set of cables Cons No height adjustment Mediocre black level Poor vertical viewing angle Inaccurate colors Scroll smear Very limited image adjustments Unsuitable for photographic image processing Soft fine text This monitor would be suitable for non image critical applications or gaming where its fast response and bright image would be a plus. As for me, Ill be shopping for something better.

> 3 dayI have the previous model of this monitor, so when I needed a second one (which I use for work more than anything) I got this one. Picture is good, very adjustable. This one has buttons rather than touch controls, and Im having a tough time getting both monitors to look the same because the menus are different. Because this was new I was going to use it as my primary screen and use my old one as the secondary screen, but the sound was so tinny and awful (hence 4 stars) that this is my secondary monitor. So if you dont need/want to use this for sound it will probably be great.

22-11-2024After my old Acers died, I decided it was time to step it up to 1080P. However, even for someone that has worked with computers for nearly 25 years; monitors are extremely difficult to buy. In fact, it took me 3 weeks to finally pull the trigger on a pair of these VX2452MHs over the equivilent Asus, Acer, and BenQ low response gaming monitors. On to the review, which is going to be short, from a dual-screen perspective, and about 3 days of usage. I’m going to try to answer questions that I initially asked myself about the screens as part of the review. Additionally, I’m not using the 2W speakers and I immediately mounted these guys to a dual-screen stand, bypassing the unadjustable OEM stands. So, are they easy to setup? Very easy, my screens are currently connected to my PC via DVI, and the visual quality of these monitors is indeed stunning right out of the box. Just to note, inserting the cables can be a bit of a pain because you have to *lightly* push down on the plastic back to get the connectors to plugin; so make sure to take your time with the external setup. Once powered on, the screen takes 2 seconds to turn on, and they are very bright, so make sure to turn them down a bit. How about dead pixels? I bought two screens and neither had any dead pixels. Is it a glossy screen? Nope, its also an anti-glare screen. How about the buttons and menu? The control buttons sits under the right bottom edge of the monitor and the menu is very functional, easy to read, and every setting is adjustable – even the response time. That’s nice, but are they good for PC gaming? To be completely honest with you, the screens are so good that you don’t have to adjust any setting other than the brightness. When you switch over to ‘game mode’ the response shoots down to 2MS and there is absolutely zero ghosting in games such as BF4, Terraria, and Left 4 Dead 2 at 1080P/60hz. I plan to try GTAV, and Shadow of Mordor as soon as I have a chance to download them again, but I’m sure they’ll be even more stunning than before. My end goal is to manually adjust the screens, but I havent had the need as of yet. So you really like them? Yes, for the price tag versus performance they are excellent. You won’t be able to get a better 24 Inch LED TN panel at this price outside of Black Friday. In my opinion, ViewSonic did an excellent job making sure these killer screens were well worth the price tag. Just keep in mind that these are GAMING monitors, so people looking to buy these for web design, video editing, and photo shop may have a different opinion. I suspect a lot of the lower star reviews are non-gaming reviews.

16-11-2024I primarily use this product for gaming on my PC and occasionally Xbox. Overall the monitor is perfect for a desktop setup considering the size. I have not had any problems with the monitor at all, the customization options are simple and effective as well as the portability just in case you do need to move it. I fell in love with this monitor and have already bought three of them for my personal setup at home. I recommend this product to anyone trying to get a nice monitor for an affordable price. Some things you may want to look out for are the sound quality and the material quality. The volume of the monitor does not go very high and doesnt sound the best so I would recommend a speaker along with it. The quality of the back panel is strong but is only hard plastic so it is vulnerable to some damage in that respect. Other than that I have no other problems with the monitor and I am very pleased with my purchase.

> 3 dayDont do gaming. Average computer use. The picture/screen quality are really good. I do a lot of detailed work in color and the product is excellent for those uses. Speakers are weak. Even at high audio, its sometimes hard to hear. Will augment with another speaker system as this isnt quality. Like the pictures, though!

> 3 dayI knew my old monitor was dying when it would fade to black within a few seconds of being turned on -- but I didnt realize how bad it had been until I turned on this ViewSonic monitor -- WOW!!! It is clear & bright -- I can really identify items on my display. About the shipping -- I ordered it from Amazon because they said 2 day shipping. I was disappointed when they informed me that it wouldnt arrive until Friday - snow was also coming - (I was really wanting it on Wednesday!) But Amazon has alternate shippers that really came through -- they delivered it yesterday (Wednesday). Congratulations to Amazon for not only having quality products but finding a way to have it delivered as originally stated!
