> 3 dayReceived my ViewSonic VX2452MH 24-inch monitor today and after initially being disappointed and concerned, I have to say that I love the display. Few things to point out. 1- The stand feels a bit flimsy so be careful with it. 2- I purchased the AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable to go with the monitor since my Dell Studio XPS PC had an HDMI output. This is where I was disappointed. Once I had everything plugged in, I couldnt get the screen resolution right. The text was not sharp. It was kinda fuzzy no matter what website I was on. The desktop would not fill the whole screen even after playing with the screen settings and installing the correct drivers from the CD that came with it. Game Mode setting did not help at all. It just adjusted the brightness, contrast and colorization. I was so bummed out that I nearly packed the monitor back up to prepare for a return and refund. I tried one last thing before boxing it up. I hooked up the DVI cable that came with the monitor instead of the HDMI. Thats how the old monitor was hooked up so I gave it a shot. I removed the HDMI and then plugged in the DVI cable. HOLY COW what a difference!! The desktop filled the entire screen and everything looked nice and sharp. No fuzz. What a relief! So in case you have a similar problem with the HDMI hooked up, try the DVI cable instead. Very satisfied with the outcome. This monitor is excellent now. Very nice.

> 3 dayI recently needed to replace my Viewsonic 20 CRT monitors on my everyday computer setup. Ive had 20-21 monitors for nearly 20 years and dual 20 or 21s for the last 12-13. Got use to all the desktop real estate and then couldnt live without it. One of mine developed a power supply problem and theres no one around to fix them anymore. I still prefer CRT monitors, the color is richer and theres much more flexibility. I was reluctantly going to flat panels. I bought a pair of 20 Viewsonic LCDs thinking it would be the same as what I had. I did a ton of research before I bought, this was my first flat panel purchase and I got up to speed on all the specs to compare and look for. The one thing I didnt see anything about was how to buy when you are switching from CRTs to LCDs. Especially if you are already using big monitors. The 20 Viewsonics had good specs, but where not in the ball park with my 20 CRTs. Didnt come close to the same resolution. I returned them and got a pair of these 24 Viewsonics. Going to the 24 LCDs from the 20 CRTs is close to a vertical upgrade. Same width resolution as the CRT, less height, but thats the thing about LCDs. They have a fixed resolution to run them at, and they wont go over that, even if your video card can. Its nice to not have million pound monitors to deal with, (~60, actually), and they are crisper for most of the stuff I do on this system. Certainly a good monitor for the price. Especially considering I paid $1000 for the first 21 CRT I bought, and it was used. If you are upgrading from large CRTs,you definitely need to look at the resolution limit of the LCDs and I recommend you go bigger if you want a comparable setup when youre done.

> 3 dayI have bought three ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p this year. I have to say they work great and they display a very good picture. I use them for work and my kids use them for school. I have given them a 5 star because for the price and quality, they do a good job. I will say the sound quality is BAD. That is the only down side. I use external speakers, so its not a big deal for me. The packaging was the ViewSonic box, but it arrive in one piece with no issues. Each of my monitors were delivered on time. I would recommend this monitor to anyone based on the value and quality.

> 3 dayOne major problem for me. The picture on this monitor is so sharp and bright that I found it slightly distracting. So I had to make a few adjustments on the menu like dialing down the brightness and contrast. Dont get me wrong. This is a compliment. Usually I take the factory default settings and live with them. But this actually required some minor changes. In fact, I am using it right now. The disc that came with the unit was worthless to me, but I dont think you really need it. By the way, I like all the little additions on this model so you have lots of options to plug in cables with 3 or 4 letters or even sound. Its hard to count but I believe it came with speaker, VGA, DVI cables. I dont recall seeing an HDMI cable but I have plenty of spare ones. It says it is certified for Windows 8, but seems to function just fine on 10. It would have been helpful to get this on sale, but I needed it like yesterday to replace an old dying unit. So far this works great and is strongly recommended for someone with a small crowded desk like mine.

> 3 dayThis screen is lightweight, easy to move for best viewing position, and works with my MAC. The color quality may not be as good as my MAC monitor, but it is much less expensive.

Greater than one weekUpdate 2: Submitted the paperwork required to get it replaced via ViewSonic warranty program. The process required several emails back and forth and was kinda confusing but overall, ViewSonic reps were quick to respond to my emails and answer my questions. They sent me a new monitor and then I used the same box and packaging to return the old monitor. The only part that made me uneasy was that they require your cc number incase you do not return the old monitor or if they decide it is not covered under warranty (which is understandable). However, what bothered me is they never acknowledged that they received the new monitor. Tracking clearly said they got it but after several emails, they never would admit that they got it and I was in the clear. All I want is closure and a statement that the process is complete (and my card will not be charged). All in all though, I am happy with my new monitor and very happy that they followed through on their warranty. It seems that most companies find any excuse to not follow through. Update: Submitted a RMA request as instructed by the manufacturer and am currently waiting to hear back. Great monitor for the price, however, within a month of having it, a cluster of pixels have died in the center of the monitor, leaving an obnoxious white spot that you cant get rid of. Considering how fast it appeared, I imagine more will be on their way out soon.

19-11-2024I purchased this monitor after reading a lot of reviews, agree with many reviewers that this monitor is capable of frying your retinas right out of the box. I did spend a considerable amount of time fiddling around with the adjustments, and managed to tone the brightness down considerably. I am still trying to dial it in, and as of now everything appears to have a slight blue tint to it. It will take some time to dial it in to my liking i suppose, but for now it works. For the price I paid, I cant be expecting perfection, after all. I use it for gaming and web browsing only, and it performs well enough for those activities. I cannot justify spending hundreds of dollars for a gaming monitor, as I just dont have the extra cash to spend on those kind of things.

> 3 dayUpgraded since my 19 viewsonic finally died after 15 years. Picture is amazing, clear and enjoyable for my gaming. 75 mhz refresh is sufficient for what i do, both office work and games.

> 3 dayI use two monitors. I had two 22 inch Viewsonics that got damaged in our 6.0 earthquake last year. One cracked and one finally started acting flaky recently. Since I like them to match I decided it was time to buy two more monitors. I went to the local Frys and bought a couple monitors whose brand names I wont mention because I think they were counterfeits and wouldnt be fair to the company whose name was used. They were so bad I returned them and came home and got on the internet to shop for Viewsonics. I still needed DVI connectors which is what drew me to these. A little bigger was good too. (24) They were $40 each more than the junk I had returned. This price is in the moderate to low end but make no mistake there is superior design in these monitors. I am 110% happy. Great color great sharpness. Good speed for games. There is a game mode with these that I havent used because it hasnt been necessary. After I hooked them up my wife came to ask how I liked them. I said I now have 4 feet of wow.

> 3 dayI dont see many reviews from Mac users on monitors, so heres one for you. I just received this monitor this morning and have it connected to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, late 2013) with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB video card running El Capitan. I initially connected my monitor via the Mini Displayport to HDMI cable I bought from Monoprice a year or so ago. I do a lot of touring and corporate video work and its the same cable I use to connect my Mac into many video switchers that have an HDMI input, so its been a solid cable in a variety of setups. With this monitor, it wouldnt work properly at 1080p (red dots everywhere) and at 1080i it wasnt syncing properly and was shifting up and down (jittering, is probably more accurate). I grabbed a standard HDMI cable out of my gear bag and plugged that in instead and its working great at 1080p. It still has the same issue at 1080i, with the rapid up and down shifting. However, at 1080p its perfect. Unlikely some people who have complained about this monitor being way too bright, tis actually dark (on the Natural setting) than my rMBP screen at 100% and only slightly brighter than my late 2009 21.5 iMac that its also sitting next to. I havent had a chance to test with VGA or DVI yet since I dont have the correct Apple adapters at home. Response Time is best set to Standard for normal use. When I set it to Advanced or Ultra Fast I get trailing on my mouse cursor. I have Dynamic Contrast off. Contrast is set to 60 and Brightness is set to 100. My home office has natural light filtered through blinds with the windows behind my screens rather than behind me, so there isnt really any glare. I dont see any reflection on the screen of the lamp that is behind me like I can on my iMac screen. The color matching seeing fairly close to my MacBook Pro screen. When I set my background to solid white or solid black, they are both fairly even and I dont see any bleeding or obvious color issues.
