I purchased two of these monitors to replace older Viewsonic (Much older - almost 15 years!) monitors for general use during remote work and as a dual-monitor setup for my Mac Pro for music production. Great, non-glare screen, good resolution and flexible connectivity. I am not a fan at all of glossy screens and this fits the bill affordably and perfectly. For audio quality, the built-in speakers work fine for general use / conference calls but are a bit underpowered. However I did not originally plan on using the speakers at all until the recent COVID-19 situation, so being able to leverage them and give my headset a break was a nice bonus.

I purchased this as the display component to a new PC build I was working on, which ended up never coming to fruition, and as such, I returned it. However, I still have some things to say. When I was looking for a solid, affordable 1080p monitor, this model immediately caught my eye, namely for its relatively high average rating and its above par response time (2ms vs the standard 5). I decided to buy it after reading several strongly positive reviews, praising its brightness, color reproduction accuracy as well as its viewing angles, the descriptions of which made this display seem a little too good to be true. As it turns out, I was mostly right. It came very well packaged, and with a plethora of cables to boot (DVI, VGA, and aux), which gave me a great first impression. As I set it up (which was a very straightforward process), I immediately noticed that the plastic bezel styling appeared somewhat gaudy and notably cheap, which was the first aspect of many in this item to disappoint. I decided I could live with this, so long as the quality of the screen justified it. Sadly. I cannot say that it did. After hooking it up to my machine via DVI, I was instantly let down by the viewing angles, which were so bad that any conceivable position I could take in front of the panel left one or more sizable portions of the screen incongruently colored and lit. I tried the other cable configurations, with the same result across all - utter mediocrity. The brightness was also a fairly large let-down, being decent at best in certain color modes, to downright pitiful in others (sRGB). This was not well complemented by the surprisingly acceptable response time, which, at 2ms, left no noticeable artifact ghosting on screen, and made for a more or less smooth feeling PC usage experience. Oddly, the speakers were surprisingly decent, with pretty nice volume levels and above average tonal range, although their positioning on the rear of the monitor made the sound seem rather distant at times. Verdict: For the price, I would certainly recommend looking for something else. There are much better options available on Amazon, for the same amount, give or take $20. Not the worst display in the world, but not one I would ever want to keep.

Easy to set up....knew from the reviews that the base and the stand were flimsy and will cinch it down with a couple of braces. Be aware that youll also have to order an HDMI cable if thats the way that you want to go. I didnt read the package contents when I purchased this monitor and had to have Amazon send me one (just two days). Then I set this monitor up in front of my exercise bike in order to watch movies while I work out. Other than that, all I had to do to get it working was go into my nVidia Control Panel on the computer and set my primary monitor and this monitor up as clones so that both show the same screen. The screen on this VX2452 is crisp. It even looks great when a game id being played on my computer (I run a GTX980Ti on ultra mode. I highly recommend this monitor for work or for play.

Ive used dual monitors for quite some time at home. I used to use ViewSonic but switched to Samsung & LG maybe 7-8 years ago. My present (not cheap) LG has a somewhat washed out appearance. This is the second time in a row that a Samsung monitor hasnt lasted 40 months after purchase. For a while now, Ive only been buying Samsung as far as our TVs (32 and 46 presently) and Smartphones (2 x S3s and one S4). At the price of this ViewSonic with its 3 year warranty my heart (and wallet) will not be broken if they die on the 39th month, as was the case with my last 2 Samsung monitors. I find the picture about the same for everyday use at about $100 less than I was paying for my other higher end monitors. I do wish it had more pre-set options but at $150, still well worth it for a very acceptable picture. No, Im not doing graphic design or intense digital photography. Bottom Line - For this price I would/will buy again. If I had the desktop space, Id buy another to play music DVDs while I work.

I have bought three ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p this year. I have to say they work great and they display a very good picture. I use them for work and my kids use them for school. I have given them a 5 star because for the price and quality, they do a good job. I will say the sound quality is BAD. That is the only down side. I use external speakers, so its not a big deal for me. The packaging was the ViewSonic box, but it arrive in one piece with no issues. Each of my monitors were delivered on time. I would recommend this monitor to anyone based on the value and quality.

I was so pleased with the first one, I bought a second. Both came up with no adjustments, drivers, or other manipulation needed. Kudos to Viewsonic.

I dont see many reviews from Mac users on monitors, so heres one for you. I just received this monitor this morning and have it connected to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, late 2013) with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB video card running El Capitan. I initially connected my monitor via the Mini Displayport to HDMI cable I bought from Monoprice a year or so ago. I do a lot of touring and corporate video work and its the same cable I use to connect my Mac into many video switchers that have an HDMI input, so its been a solid cable in a variety of setups. With this monitor, it wouldnt work properly at 1080p (red dots everywhere) and at 1080i it wasnt syncing properly and was shifting up and down (jittering, is probably more accurate). I grabbed a standard HDMI cable out of my gear bag and plugged that in instead and its working great at 1080p. It still has the same issue at 1080i, with the rapid up and down shifting. However, at 1080p its perfect. Unlikely some people who have complained about this monitor being way too bright, tis actually dark (on the Natural setting) than my rMBP screen at 100% and only slightly brighter than my late 2009 21.5 iMac that its also sitting next to. I havent had a chance to test with VGA or DVI yet since I dont have the correct Apple adapters at home. Response Time is best set to Standard for normal use. When I set it to Advanced or Ultra Fast I get trailing on my mouse cursor. I have Dynamic Contrast off. Contrast is set to 60 and Brightness is set to 100. My home office has natural light filtered through blinds with the windows behind my screens rather than behind me, so there isnt really any glare. I dont see any reflection on the screen of the lamp that is behind me like I can on my iMac screen. The color matching seeing fairly close to my MacBook Pro screen. When I set my background to solid white or solid black, they are both fairly even and I dont see any bleeding or obvious color issues.

The ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor has startling color range and clarity for both at home computing and video streaming of your favorite entertainment channels. I found the monitor to be easy to set up and use with a variety of digital inputs including HDMI and traditional VGA and DVI connections. I have a dual monitor setup on my pc and look forward to purchasing another VX2452MH to replace an older monitor when it is time. Excellent monitor for the price.

This is a real review from Chicago Illinois. I bought x2 of these monitors on November 8, 2020, and today is March 31, 2022. One of these monitors functions well, the second one started to develop dead pixels around the 5th/6th month, which later turned into complete vertical dead lines. Now, a year and a half later, there are x6 fully dead vertical lines on the screen in various spots. So if you are thinking about buying one of these, you have about a 50% chance of getting a bad one. If I had to do it again, I would go with a different monitor.

I recently needed to replace my Viewsonic 20 CRT monitors on my everyday computer setup. Ive had 20-21 monitors for nearly 20 years and dual 20 or 21s for the last 12-13. Got use to all the desktop real estate and then couldnt live without it. One of mine developed a power supply problem and theres no one around to fix them anymore. I still prefer CRT monitors, the color is richer and theres much more flexibility. I was reluctantly going to flat panels. I bought a pair of 20 Viewsonic LCDs thinking it would be the same as what I had. I did a ton of research before I bought, this was my first flat panel purchase and I got up to speed on all the specs to compare and look for. The one thing I didnt see anything about was how to buy when you are switching from CRTs to LCDs. Especially if you are already using big monitors. The 20 Viewsonics had good specs, but where not in the ball park with my 20 CRTs. Didnt come close to the same resolution. I returned them and got a pair of these 24 Viewsonics. Going to the 24 LCDs from the 20 CRTs is close to a vertical upgrade. Same width resolution as the CRT, less height, but thats the thing about LCDs. They have a fixed resolution to run them at, and they wont go over that, even if your video card can. Its nice to not have million pound monitors to deal with, (~60, actually), and they are crisper for most of the stuff I do on this system. Certainly a good monitor for the price. Especially considering I paid $1000 for the first 21 CRT I bought, and it was used. If you are upgrading from large CRTs,you definitely need to look at the resolution limit of the LCDs and I recommend you go bigger if you want a comparable setup when youre done.
