> 3 dayI really like this monitor. I needed a monitor with integrated speaker, because I dont have external speakers with my computer (and I dont want them). So I was concerned when I read some of the reviews that said the sound was not good. I havent found that to be the case at all. In fact, I think the sound is a bit better than my old monitor. I did discover that the factory setting was only at 50%, but I raised it up to 100% with the button on the bottom of the monitor, and of course I can still adjust the sound in the normal way with the speaker icon, so Im happy with the sound. Im also happy with the size of the monitor and with the image clarity, etc. And setting it up was super easy, which is important to me, because Im no techie. So this monitor is working out very well for me. Glad I bought it.

> 3 dayGiven the high number of these monitors sold and the high ratings, I was expecting the installation to be quick and flawless. That wasnt my experience. setting it up and connecting the cables was no problem. There is an installation sheet that shows how to do it. Then comes the CD. After inserting it and hearing it spin up I expected something to come up on the screen that would walk me through the installation, settings and registration. Not so. I had to go to my Computer and find the CD, open it and look at each file separately. When it came to installing drivers, I was sent to a 3rd party software to get updates and drivers at a cost for 6 months for $30.00. I didnt pay the $30.00 so Im not sure I have all I need to optimally run this monitor. I crawled through half dozen files and PDFs and sorted out what I thought I needed and what I didnt. Its a pain in the neck to register it. There are links that dont work and at least 3 different methods to register it including an address to snail mail a form you print out. For a technology company, this whole process is like out of the dark ages. While the monitor actually operated well from the moment I powered it up. Im still questioning whether there are drivers out there that would make it even better. For now, I cant complain about what I see, its very crisp and colorful. Im pleased with the built in speakers since there are two less items on the desk, and I dont have to turn them off or on. There is a Users guide in the form of a PDF on the CD which you can copy to your desktop. Its actually your key to setting up and using the monitor.

> 3 dayGreat second monitor to use with a laptop. I like that it has speakers included for an easy docking station setup with fewer parts.

> 3 day[+] THE REVIEW: I got this monitor for programming code. I am not going to speak to the monitors color accuracy. I am assuming if you really want to have tuned color you need to use a hardware device to color correct any monitor you purchase. I dont have that hardware. The colors, as far as the naked eye goes, look great. As mentioned you need to first adjust the brightness and contrast. I turned mine down to 40%. I did not make any other color corrections. The 1080p works great for dotnet programming with visual studio. The wider screen allows me to have my toolbox and my properties windows active all the time without it interfering with the space to design the form. It actually works better than expected. For this price I am really glad I took a chance and purchased this monitor. [Update: 11/19/2014] The more I use this monitor the more I really love it. I am so use to using it now that I prefer it to my laptop screen. I stream HD video to watch Amazon Instant Videos, and it is perfect. When I looked at the price I paid, I forgot it was so low. I highly recommend buying this monitor if you are a programmer or just want to watch anything in HD. [Update: 5/27/2018] Im still using this monitor about 4 years later, and it works great. No dead pixels and color remains perfect.

> 3 dayI already own a Viewsonic monitor and this is the second one Ive purchased because I use two monitors with my desktop PC. An old Dell monitor I used for the second one finally zapped out, so I decided to go with the same Viewsonic brand. I gave this monitor four stars because the screen on the original one has lost its brightness and now has a hazy look. I tried all the settings to correct it, but nothing worked yet. Im hoping the new one wont experience the same thing. Overall I really like this monitor.

> 3 dayI bought two of these monitors for my home office, and mounted them to a dual monitor arm... I also bought the Assurion 4 Year warranty to go with them. These monitors have worked great for the last two years, however, one of them has a problem with the HDMI port now, and called Assurion to file a claim, and get the monitor replaced. Because I have them mounted on a dual monitor arm, I had no use for the monitor stand that comes with the monitors, and we got rid of those. This is where the problem with Assurion comes up... because I no longer have the monitor stand to send back with the monitor (that they are just going to destroy anyway), the REFUSE to honor the warranty, and will NOT process my claim. According to the rep I was speaking with, if I cannot return EVERYTHING that was included on the box, then they cannot (WILL NOT) honor the warranty, and will not proceed with the claim. ASSURION IS A SCAM! Buy the monitors, which outside of this lone issue, have been great, but do NOT buy the warranty!!!

> 3 dayThe basic key to this purchase is the price offered for the combined LED, 2 ms response time, resolution, and the size of the monitor. Having used it for a week now, I can say its visuals are a great upgrade to the older models and the 21 inch. At the 1920 x 1080 resolution, the graphics in World of Tanks or Lord of the Rings online are fantastic, and there is no noticeable blurring as camera/action swings around. (Im running a NiVida GE 1050 card and a 3.2 ghz clock, so the monitor is tasked with plenty of signal.) Setup was simple with the DVI cable. Came with a VGA cable and audio cable as well. Audio cable is needed if you want to utilize the sound, which is nothing special. Two small speakers with sound emanating from behind the monitor. More than adequate for notifications or simple game sounds. But no one buys a monitor for the sound anyway, they buy for the visuals, and this serves up a visual feast, rivaling monitors costing an extra $50 or more. Negatives are a somewhat thicker bezel (read boarder) and an antiquated volume, contrast, brightness control system. Its one of those buttons brings up a menu, another one moves the arrows, the first one selects, a third one sets....etc. What a pain. Especially, when the buttons are on the bottom, back side of the monitor, not easy to reach. I found if you set the monitor visuals once and use your computer audio/volume to set sound, you dont have to use these much. All told, Id buy this again.

Greater than one weekThis replaced an old HP w2207. Such a difference. HDMI, 1080P, speakers about the same - just OK, a fraction of the weight, a little smaller with the same screen size. I purchased a refurb from Viewsonic for $57. Like new. I might buy a 2nd for a hobby room. This is a gift price. The old one will be re-purposed as a spare or as a replacement shared view screen for the 24/7 network and media server arrangement in the basement. That one now uses an old 15 inch lcd monitor I found at a thrift shop for $10. Its well over 20 years old.

> 3 dayI originally bought this to replace an Acer SB220Q as my primary monitor and was, at first, disappointed overall. The contrast was extremely high and tuning its settings through the OSD (whose buttons were extremely sharp and cut into my fingers) didnt help at all. Colors were slightly more saturated than I feel they should have been. Viewing angle was pretty narrow and corners were dark, and coupled with the high native contrast, it was difficult to view any dark images or games. Theres a noticeable screen-door effect on plain white images. The speakers were super gutless and required the desktop audio to be cranked up to max to be audible, at which point it would lose any clarity and had no bass to it whatsoever. Its response time setting was supposed to reduce motion blur, but the tradeoff was that it added significant ghosting and choppy motion. Most importantly, it had a vignette along the right edge of the monitor that was annoying enough for me to RMA it under warranty. I received an older manufacturing date model as a replacement and the quality of the two monitors is night and day for some reason. The contrast and colors now match my other displays, including the SB220Q. I was able to get an almost 100% image match with very slight tuning of the RGB. The monitors OSD buttons are more square and blunt and dont require as much force to press. The speakers are noticeably better. The response time setting now works with no noticeable trade-off like the ghosting before and makes high-speed games look great. Unfortunately, the screen door is still there and this one also has a dark edge along the right side of the screen albeit much less noticeable, but the improvement in the color was enough to warrant me keeping it. Its on-the-fly gaming mode isnt for me as it turns the image bland, flat, and washed out in favor of lower contrast thats supposed to make it easier to see in the dark for esports or tactical games or something. I recommend this for gaming, where youre likely to not focus enough on the image quality to notice its issues, but not for creative work or art as its color and light seems to be inconsistent between units.
