Over the years Ive used a few sets of binoculars, and monocular. I usually try to find something of quality but doesnt break the bank. While Ive used a couple of good pairs, they all seemed lacking. Keep in mind, I use the bulk of mine for hunting, and living in the NE part of PA, I dont have a lot of canyons or clear cuts to watch, so compact and weight were the orders of the day. Getting older, and only a little wiser... Ive learned that when it comes to seeing clearly, small and light weight usually do not mean overall great quality when you are viewing for any length of time. Ive tried some other sets that were a bit bigger in size than my 12s, but found them lacking in the magnification as they were only 10s. I tried these binoculars for the first time last night while on post, and I have to say, I was simply amazed at the quality and depth of vision. When they say HD vision they mean it. I ordered the 12x50s and so far Im very impressed with overall image quality and light transmission. As I was hunting after work, it starts getting dark now around 4pm. I was able to see clearly till 5 pm with very little sun light left. While I will admit, they are a bit hefty, in clear viewing ability they are worth the extra weight.

Got these for hunting in eastern US. So far so good. They are very clear and easy to use/adjust. The pack that comes with them is nice. The warranty is unbeatable.

These are excellent binoculars. I recently purchased the Leupold BX-1 McKenzie 10x42 (not HD), the Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD (10x42) and these 8x42 Diamondbacks. Being a novice with binoculars, one thing I figured out pretty quickly is that if you want to watch birds or backyard animals 8x is a much better way to go than 10x. You dont lose that much magnification, but you gain a larger field of vision making it easier to find the target and follow the action. The Diamondbacks were also easier to focus and felt better in my hands. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I have compared to my old bushnell, and Kmart made in Japan binoculars which are more than 2 decades old. So I thought I’m due for a new pair to see if they have improved anything in binoculars, and they are a vast improvement in clarity. I’m not easily pleased either. I like the size, the low weight, the quality feel, the smoothness even the color. These are truly a high quality product. I doubt that for $149 anything else out there can come close. There is nothing I don’t like about these binoculars. Crystal Clear Optics vibrant colors and 10x magnification which I have no problem holding steady and an unconditional lifetime warranty make this a keeper. Thanks Amazon for being the seller no stores anywhere near me had these.

Very comfy to hold. Nice set up with harness to allow both case and binos to be carried together.

My trusty Bushnell Legends suffered a fatal drop. I replaced them with an upgrade to these Vortex 10 x 50 HDs. For me they are a completely new experience in binoculars. Visual clarity and color transmission were stunning compared to my previous glasses. The trade off of 4 ounces and $130 is worth it. I found it much easier to distinguish warblers in bushes as I could clearly see them between the branches. Now we will see how long they last!

Great for the price. We use them while hiking, they already have dings and scratches and work great. Certainly not on the same level as my brother in law’s set he uses for hunting but a solid recreational purchase.
