First thing to know is that you will need the latest USB 3.2 support on the motherboard to take advantage of the high speed transfer. This is not common yet.

WD_BLACK is Western Digitals gaming-oriented brand, but these drives are the best options on the market for creative professionals and content creators as well.

This is a blazingly fast external hard drive that is very capable and super rugged! I use this for a bit of gaming and the load times are incredibly fast. But mostly I use this as a rugged, go anywhere, external drive for traveling, mostly bike packing, long touring trips, etc. It has never let me down.

Original review: Works well! Sturdy and small. Usb-C connection which is fantastic! Writing and loading games on it is instant. Huge gamer but don’t pay attention to all the technical. I play my game and can compete with no flaws.

Not fast. Very slow on my new laptop.

I bought this SSD after reading on-line reviews for the best PS5 external drives. Every PS4 game I have played, plays just as well through this drive as they did on my PS4 Pro. And I play high density graphical games like ESO on-line, Borderlands 3, Call of Duty. Downloading and installing, to this drive, is extremely fast. Once installed on the PS5 this drive automatically defaults for all PS4 downloads whether from a disk or streaming.

Good build, used on PS5 works as if it’s part of the system. Didn’t feel any slowness.

Must have for PS5 to few up space from older PS4 games. Works great and as easy as can be to connect and setup.
