The installation into the PS5 could not be any easier !!! Pop the side cover; unscrew the cover plate for the extension memory; remove the card hold down screw and standoff; move them down one position; slide in WD Black NVME at a slight angle up and then lay it flat making sure that the contacts are all the way in and the screw slot lines up on the standoff, screw down finger tight; replace the cover and screw; replace the side cover. Done. Go to Settings>Storage and THERE IT IS !!! Format and use !!! I purchased the 2T version, so now I have all that space for PS5 games/apps. If you dont know already, PS5 games/apps MUST run from the consoles onboard memory (including the WD Black extension). PS4 games, however, can be offloaded to a USB external drive and played FROM THERE !!! If you move a PS5 game/app to the external, it must be reinstalled to be played/used.

This WD Black SN850 m.2 SSD is the fastest SSD I have used in my system. The software from WD is streamlined and easy to use when cloning data from my old SSD to this one. The write speeds are as advertised and I had no issues at all with the drive. When doing stress test, I did notice this drive heats up which is not really a negative because stress test are not a reflection of real world usage. I just wanted to see if it ran hotter than my 970 Pro, which it did when I stressed tested the drive. Overall, this is the best SSD I have used to date and I highly recommend it.

ACHTUNG. Der Hersteller WD gibt zur 4TB Platte eine falsche Dicke an. Die 4TB ist beidseitig bestückt und passt daher nicht in alle Laptops.

Is this drive expensive? Yes. Is it one of the best drives you can get right now? Yes.

No endurance whatsoever. Im an avid gamer, on my work days I spend about 4 hours gaming, and when Im off it can be anywhere between 6-20ish hours gaming. That means downloading and deleting a lot of big files. Its nothing crazy, just a couple of like 30-100gb games.
